Quarterback (2023– )
4/10
So much potential wasted, tons of filler and wife talk
18 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is produced by Peyton Manning which should mean that we get an inside and unfiltered look at an NFL quarterback. But as this series progresses it reminds me of an NFL production where nothing but the obvious is revealed.

Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs has tons of screen time and his wife Brittany has nearly as much which is just annoying. She even has a stint showcasing her involvement of owning the Kansas City women's soccer team. What this has to do with our subject matter is unknown, mostly product placement.

Kirk Cousins of the Vikings has a nice package with enough of his preparation and massage therapy to rehab. His kids and wife only have a few lines. They show his buying books to read on Tuesday which is his day off every week which is just fake. When are you going to have time to read 6 books with such an intense job, plus a wife and 2 kids? After such a great season it seems as though it's mostly overlooked and there is no follow up after the season.

Marcus Mariota of the Falcons is the strangest choice and unsurprisingly he is not up to the same level with 8 years in the league. Perhaps no one else could be found. He gets benched and no followup is given. This is a missed opportunity to interview and get an inside look at his thinking, but it gets put in a corner just like the NFL would suggest. Move on.

This could have been a decent series but I'm guessing the NFL won't allow it's entertainment to be nothing but praise. After a while is feels more like a pregame show with all the fancy camera work and clips of the wives and kids. 4/10 due to annoying wives taking up screen time cheering on their husbands.
