Master Hunter Has No Plan
20 July 2023
The big bad genius master hunter who never talks to his sons on the phone because demons might have tapped his line decides to tackle Meg (played by Nicki Aycox) by himself. A legend in his own mind, John Winchester walks into a trap with at least one demon waiting for him and his Colt handgun.

Considering that these folks have very few friends, you would think that when Meg threatens to kill his friends, John would have said "What friends?" It makes even less sense that he had to rush over to meet her. Was she going to find and kill another friend on the same night?

It made even less sense that John had no plan at all. Just give the demon a fake generic gun, and hope for the best? Wow that was straight out of a Three Stooges comedy.

Even dumber than a Stooge, he shows up to meet Meg unarmed except for his braggadocio. It turns out there are two additional demons there, and each one is more evil and powerful than Meg. John of course has nothing to fight back except holy water.

Sammy during his portion of the episode finds the main demon that killed his Mom, and misses the shot with the magic Colt six-shooter. One of the things about this TV series that was often annoying was that the Winchesters were sometimes the dumbest characters on the show. They often sabotaged their own plans thanks to stupidity, incompetence, and the constant in-fighting between the brothers.

Now I fast-forward through the dumb arguments, and that makes it a lot better. Less talk, more action.
