I screened this film for a festival a while back and was totally taken by its realism, heart & soul, and grittiness. The characters are engaging and there's an authenticity throughout the film that just feels right. There are twists and turns and in spots it's violent as hell, but this only adds to the veracity of the story. What works here the best is a collision of two separate worlds coming together and the consequences of taking on too much risk. The director is a talent to watch, he's got many more great films coming in his career. This is really cool introduction to a new voice. Check it out.
