I DO LIKE some horror remakes..."Evil Dead"..."Dawn of the Dead"...even "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". But this remake is like the Disney version of the original. The other remakes I mentioned brought something NEW to the table,and were MORE INTENSE than the originals. It's like the filmmakers of this movie were like "You know everything that made the original GREAT?... Let's not do that." This version was tamed down...a LOT! On the PLUS SIDE...this version was shot very well...the acting was decent,but the story was BLAH. Sure,it's the SAME story as the original,but this one does NOT have the intensity or suspense as the original. The tagline for this should have been "Martyrs...The version for *USSY'S". Blumhouse turned this one into a "Teen Horror Movie". I just never understood WHY some people have to destroy something that should have never been touched in the first place.
