Continuing my plan to watch every movie in Denzel Washington's filmography, I come to his third and last movie of 1995 Devil In A Blue Dress.
After the disappointing Virtuoisty, this is a much better movie.
I really like film noir, so this was right to my street. Washington is surrounded by a great cast including Tom Sizemore, Lisa Nicole Carson (who you may know from Ally McBeal) and a scene stealing Don Cheadle.
I recommend this one, it's brilliantly acted, has a good sense of atmosphere, is well shot with a great score.
Devil In A Blue Dress only grossed $16 million (on a $27 million budget) and was the 91st highest grossing movie of the year.
Unfortunately the box office failure of this movie, stopped any potential sequels with the character Easy Rawlins, which is a real shame.
