Stallone is having the time of his life in this movie making his debut as an action movie star. We see him pulling the most Commando role I can remember.
The movie is basically about the most incompetent police force that I have ever seen and if Rambo joined it.
Everything is kind of a cliche but this was the 80s. Arnold played these kinds of roles too, their agents must have been fighting over it.
This movie might not be the smartest but it looks darn good and it nailed the exact period where it could work. I mean Arnold did Eraser 10 years which is almost a copy of this movie just more over the top and this movie despite being less action heavy, it is somehow a little better.
Stallone looks so good in this role. This is his peak in appearance. And the first of his movies where he plays a good cop that doesn't do anything by the book.
