"The Train Has Stopped"
17 September 2023
Perhaps the best film by Mindazde and Abrashitov, combining the accuracy of a social commentary with an ambiguous view of the problem. The film promotes the idea that the alternative to Soviet society in a stagnant, degenerate form, carefully reproduced by Trifonov, with a total double morality, deceitful and philistine. This movie heavily criticizes those who prey on the "new society".

The main character, an investigator, turns out to be a nonconformist and an allegory for Don Quixote fighting against the windmills. But you cannot help but to feel deep respect for the character.

This film is very provocative, but nonetheless interesting and filled with many ideas.
