Better Than Expected

Before there was Pirates of the Caribbean (2003), The Country Bears (2002) or The Haunted Mansion (2003), there was Tower of Terror, a 1997 made for tv film based on the Disney Resorts ride that's named after the Twilight Zone by Rod Serling. For a made for television movie of the week, it really was a well made movie with an interesting story and a cast that fit the roles.

Starring Kirsten Dunst and Steve Guttenberg as an uncle and niece team who deceive and defraud the public by creating fake stories about hauntings and ghostly disturbances for the tabloid newspapers. Until one day, they're presented with a story that may be true. Could it be? No one believes them, its like the boy who cried wolf too many times.

Tower of Terror is one of the best Disney weekly movies of the 90s, and it could have been released theatrically. It was that good.
