A girl from Yorkshire

Warning: Spoilers
I was 15 years old when Peter Sutcliffe was arrested. My parents didn't let me go out to socialise with my friends until 1981. No youth club, or just hanging out at the rec. I lived in a small village on the outskirts of York. I didn't know why until the Yorkshire Ripper was arrested. Peter Sutcliffe didn't just destroy the families of the sex workers, he destroyed the lives of hundreds of innocent families around Yorkshire. The show based on the book Micheal Benton's wrote. 'Whicker Beyond Belief' is an amazing, creative series about the terror we all lived under in the late 1970 and early 1980s Yorkshire. A great adaptation of a book I've read (and Colon Sutton referenced in his hunt for Levi Belfield)as a book people should read. ITV have done an amazing( if a little pc job) of adapting the book. Sex workers were innocent women yet society blames them for trying to put bread on the table. No women goes on the game because she is as sex addict. No. They do it due to a need to pay their bills. I know this might be a bit controversial and I'm sorry for this. But as somebody who grew up in a culture of misogynistic men, who disliked women who exhibited any kind of free will, it is hard to watch this mini series without having a severe emotional response. I loved the tv series 'This is Personal' but it was a show if it's time. This mini series show the lives of the sex workers and the trauma they had to endure to help bring money into a household of the 70's. Fs Fantastic adaptation of a book I love.

Xx.
