Delightful, witty, playful!

Thoroughly enjoyable nostalgic remake of 1971's Kamen Rider. There is a lot of wit in the dialogue, acting and the deliberately retro simplistic special effects. The protagonists struggle between kindness and super hero righteousness is apt and not over played. The acting is skillful and understated. Minami Hamabe is excellent, playing a very different character from her great performance in Kakegurui. Sôsuke Ikematsu also does a very good job. As does the director, Shin'ya Tsukamoto, and the rest of the cast. Finally, the costumes and masks of the various villains are excellent, especially that of Kumo-Aug.
