Hallmark loves their patriotic Christmas movies and 'Holiday for Heroes' is amongst the best of them, blending a Christmas themed benefit for troops fighting abroad with elements of the kinds of movies where the lead character goes back to their small town for Christmas.
The two leads, Marc Blucas and Melissa Claire Egan have great chemistry. Haven't seen them in Hallmark movies before, but Blucas was particularly good, delivering his lines with sincere affability.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Hallmark movie without a love story, nor would it be a Hallmark movie without the trademarked plot device that trips up the main characters just when everything is going swimmingly - you can set your watch by it, right at the beginning of the final third of any given movie - and it definitely wouldn't be Hallmark without the very, very happy ending.
