Once again there are two strains at work here. The most global is a guy who is using beetles to produce an important substance, but he needs human hosts. He is the classic mad scientist who tried and failed and is afraid of his legacy. Fauxlivia gets pulled in by her Fringe affiliation and soon believe she has been infected by these critters. I won't throw a spoiler into things but suddenly she has a serious connection to our world and Peter is going to have to make a monumental decision in the very near future. The episode is manipulative and yet the series needed a new boost to get things more intense. Mr. Secretary is back in the game after feeling failure.
