Review of Black Cake

Black Cake (2023– )
10/10
An untold story
24 November 2023
A story full of stories rarely discussed and even far less featured in mass consumed media. I was absolutely delighted and excited to dive into this drama. It managed to weave all sorts of real life (and heavy) dynamics from race, gender, sexuality, class, post colonialism, domestic violence, inclusion and diversity, adoption, ocean science, aquatic sports, culinary and visual arts, and family!! All this, whilst hopping (rather fluidly) from the Caribbean to the UK to the US. The acting was on point to; full on winner. Can't beat that with a bat! Now to find the book and read it with glea dammit.
