I think it compares very well with the classic Christmas movies everyone knows, and deserves a spot with them. It's truly a shame more people have never heard of this movie. It's a film so ahead of its time with its portrayal of human rights, worker abuse, to unrequited love. It shows that a woman's work, even behind the scenes, is just as important as a man's and should always be appreciated. Best of all, it doesn't come off as preachy with those issues. It all seems natural. And the songs? Real toe tappers and so charming with Angela Lansbury at the helm. She was perfect for this role.
My only complaint is the ending fails to live up to the rest of the film. Other than that, a wonderful Christmas movie.
