This series never should have been ended so soon. The London hospital is not only important to Great Britain but truthfully the entire world. Each show is fictional history much closer to reality than most people watching it probably comprehend. How wonderful it would have been to see the series progress through WW1, major changes in medicine and WW2 through to 2000. To see this change in characters over time would have been wonderful.
I recommend watching each season of this series and learning as much about medicine as possible. Take a few moments to stop the show and research the procedures, the medicines and disease of these shows. It is amazing what people survived and on the hand how little it took to die.
My grandfather and mother were born in 1889 and 1892. They lived into their 90's when I was a child and early teen years. They told me of little to no medical care until after WW2. A local doctor who traded treatment for food, and very little pay. The local Barber performed tearh pulling procedures and the Baptists Pastors wife performed midwife duties.
Let's hope someone revives this series one day.
