Kira is cooking in the restaurant of her father Jim Weaver with her "Uncle" Teddy, when two thieves ask for the money. One of them shoots Kira and kills her. Detective Sharon Wallowski asks Cal to help her in the investigation since her friend Jim is dying of cancer and she would like to let him go knowing who killed his beloved daughter. Cal visits Teddy and immediately suspects of Kira's estranged brothers Marcus and Rudy, who do not talk to each other. But the police arrest the criminals in the possession of the murder weapon. But Cal believes it was a hit, and not a heist only. But who ordered the assassination?
"Smoked" is a good episode of "Lie to Me", with a murder case and many suspects. Cal Lightman, as usual, uses his orthodox methods to find the truth. Torres' segment is funny, and she retrieves Lightman's camera using her skills. My vote is seven.
