The writers were so eager to paint conservative commentators as crazy that they abandoned their job to tell a believable story. It wasn't enough to have nut-job fans demonstrating in the courtroom without being removed, and the "media conservative" be melodramatically wild-eyed and threatening on the witness stand. But nearly every character has to add their own commentary before it's over, at the expense of having realistic dialog, and
having ADA Cabot arguing with the witness counter to the legal position of her own case is unforgivably stupid.
