Yes there is a movie called Fatal Attraction, but I would not compare those two movies (so no pun intended). Actually there seems to be a sequel of sorts to this - though Sherylin Fenn was substituted with Melinda Clarke (or Mindy if a friend of mine is correct - that's what she called herself back then). I have not seen that movie, but I assume there will be a lot of steamy scenes in that one too - the 80s and 90s really went places.
Often times with ridiculous plots - this fits into that. But there is more to it. There is craziness, there is dangerous attraction ... there is the hard choice (no not that hard, well the other hard, not the literal one) ... how will our main character choose. And will the other individuals accept her decision? There is a reason the focus in the final shot is more or less a close up ... while it seems sort of open ended, I would say it is quite clear what it means and what the future is holding out ... "sequel" not withstanding of course ... if you do not mind a lot of nudity and/or decisions you may not agree with (especially if you think rationally) .... well you can watch it ... and if not - maybe this is not for you - your choice and time.
