Sort of like "Dr. Who" for kids.

If I were to try to describe this show succinctly, I'd say it's like a cross between "Dr. Who" and "Eerie, Indiana". The show clearly is NOT trying to court older audiences but more those ages 10-16.

Sarah Jane Smith used to be a companion to the Doctor. However, when the series begins, she's living on Earth and is a journalist by day and alien hunter in her spare time. Soon after the series begins, a small group of teens become Sarah Jane's companions and they run about the country having various adventures and end up repeatedly saving the Earth.

On the plus side, the special effects for the show are very nice and there aren't the cheesy aliens like you'd see in older "Dr. Who" shows. On the negative, you might not enjoy watching kids and their hijinx. A very good show...for a very select audience.
