Damsel (2024)
4/10
Ugh, no.

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, first of all - this movie had the 80s feeling of a film making. It was a fairy tale that started very promising - a princess, a prince, a loving king-father, and a beast to fight against. Well packed storyline, but was it well executed?

I will start with the acting. The Damsel did a very good job, hats down to her. She had the charisma, the speaking, the body and the movement to play the fearless princess sent to the beast. She was showing emotions all the way, until the film-makers decided to add the Rambo stance and walk. Oh come on, people, what was that??? It ruined the whole efforts of the girl....

Or you just couldn't resist once again to make a Feminine Victorious movie, eh? Hey, I'm okay with that, don't get me wrong! It's just the fact that you've made the girl look like she's been fighting and killing dragons since she was 1 year old. There wasn't any fear in her eyes for a moment. A girl-gladiator who can kill anything and anyone, no matter it's size. Was that what you wanted to make it look like? Well, you have succeeded. You've ruined the whole movie with that, congrats.

The dragon. A female dragon. Okay, it's cool.

So, where was the male dragon, who get the lady-dragon seeded so she can lay an eggs?

The dragon was speaking about.... OH WAIT.... The dragon WAS SPEAKING??? Wow.... I mean.... Ha Ha!? That was one thing I've never liked in such movies - a fearful creature far from human race, to speak not any ancient language but specifically - English. There must've been a English Dragons School or something?

Anyways, so the dragon was killing innocent girls by playing hide and seek with them, insted of directly killing them?

Why the dragon just didnt killed them all at once, centuries ago, but had to go over and over on this for CENTURIES?? What a cruel evil dragon she is!! Lol

The whole story makes no sense. A party of soldiers led by a king go to a cave to hunt a dragon, while the dragon didn't provoked them at all. Why the dragon wasn't provoking them, what was she eating to survive for centuries? Was she on a "3 princesses" diet for centuries?

Why that silly king wanted to kill it, and how dumb they were going in the cave armed with swords only, without any tricks?? "Form the line" lol, like a line of shaking of fear soldiers could stop the melting fire?

And of course, each year 3 girls are vanishing, but no other kingdom ever wanted to check on their daughters for centuries. No one found out that the girls gone wasted the next day. Or, was it even the same day, the day of the wedding?

Lame writing, folks.

Soundtrack was on point. Scenery - on point. Visual effects - on point. Camera work - on point. And those are the reasons I'm giving it 5, instead of 1 star. I enjoyed it until "Rambo" came in and ruined it all.

Please don't make a sequel because I'm afraid you'll make it even more politically-correct than this one, and not only will look dumb, but will outshadow even the bad ending of Game of Thrones.
