When i watched season 1 i couldn't believe how bad it was. Honestly if i would rate this season alone, it wouldn't get more than a 4 from me, and that is RARE i rate stuff under 5.
It had so little action (few action set pieces there was were done great tough) and a boring story with boring side characters, a bunch of naked Master Chief, and said Chief wich didn't felt like Chief at all.
Now im not gonna say Season 2 was perfect. I had a few gripes with it too but its so much of an improvement. For a start, there is WAY MORE action scenes, a lot more Covenants in general, it does lean a lot more on what Halo actually is, even tough it take liberties that i find a bit weird on some things.
There is still the issue of Chief not being in armor as much as he should, but at least this time there is some story explanation and i assume its because its cheaper to shoot action without the armor than with it. They still did something pretty good tough so i give it a pass.
Overall, without spoiling anything, i think season 3 could finally be a lot more in the vain of the Halo we know. That remain to be seen, but after the disaster of Season 1 i had no hopes for this show going forward, so its a major surprise and its welcomed.
