Review of Yodha

Yodha (2024)
4/10
Missed Flight to Entertainment
26 March 2024
Watched 'Yodha' in the theatres and the film didn't quite take off for me. Now, I know it's not fair to compare every film of the lead to 'Shershaah' but this one? It should've stayed cozy on OTT, for it didn't give any big screen vibes.

The dubbing was horrendous! It was like watching a badly synced lip-sync battle. Seriously, there were more dubbing blunders than scenes worth remembering. One wouldn't expect this from a Dharma Productions film.

And the natural vibes? Nowhere to be found! Sidharth Malhotra's acting felt more forced than my morning yoga routine, and don't even get me started on his chemistry with Raashi Khanna. Zero sparks in there, as their flight didn't take off either!

Talking about the lead actresses, Raashi and Disha Patani, they seemed completely out of sync with the rest of the movie, like wearing flip-flops to a formal event. Let's be real, a seasoned actress could have done Raashi's role way better.

Action sequences? Dull. Original music? None. Good background score? Not a chance. They even messed up a hit Punjabi song like 'Qismat' and Sidharth tried his best to 'act' in every scene, but it felt about as natural as a cat wearing sunglasses.

Now, let's also give credit where it's due. There were a solid 20 minutes in the 2nd half where I was kinda hooked. But the rest? Abrupt start, expected ending, and a whole lot of mediocrity in between.

Save yourself the time and money, 'Yodha' might not have pulled off a plane hijack successfully, but it sure hijacked my mind into watching a downright not so great film for at the end of it I walked out feeling like a 'Gadha'!
