1 May 2024
Seldom we have a chance to watch Paul Newman in a farce war comedy like this, it is really a rarest time, in this almost forgotten flick, Newman plays Harry Frigg a reluctant private soldier that steadily is escaping, however when a bunch of Generals are caught by Italian force in Italy the wiser General James Gregory has a bright idea to convince the skilled escapee Frigg to release them, not so fast to avoid any quarrel concerning the same patten crew, Gregory decides turn Frigg in high patten General.

Arriving there for his easily assign Frigg starting please of its position, also kicks off a love affair with a charming Countess Sylva Koscina, meanwhile those haughty Generals are wary regarding so unusual and unpolish General, out of the blue Frigg finds out a secret passage that is enough able to free all them, fine entertainment sadly overlooked.

Thanks for reading.
