Not sure if I love the old song as much as i loved the TV show (especially because I'm not sure I got the lyrics right), but that's focus on the movie i just saw.
Ryan Gossling is very very entertaining. It's always such a shock to me casue Gossling seems too serious to be funny, yet he knows how to make me laugh on the big screen. Plus, he did have great chemistry with Emily Blunt. Together, they made the screen explode.
The ensemble cast was excellent as well. Winsten Duke, Arron Taylor as Tom Ryder (was that a poke at Tom Cruise just a little bit?) and the woman from Ted Lasso. It was a funny movie.
It did not feel like a romantic comedy more than anything as the movie focus on the relationship of Colt and Jodi with everything feeling secondary to that. In fairness that could just prove how amazing Gossling and Blunt are together.
I also felt that considering this is a movie adaption about a TV show about a stuntman I honestly thought i would get bigger, better stunts. The stunts were great, but they seemed standard rather than do something that stands out.
Overall, very entertained by what turned out to be a romantic comedy over action comedy.
