When Herod Play, the famous race-horse, suffered a broken leg, it was thought his career was over. However, Tom Blackinston, famous horse trainer, took over the training with the intent of making a jumper out of Herod Play. But the horse wanted to run, and Blackinston let him have his own way and make a steeplechase-horse out of him, the toughest kind of hose racing. Herod Play beat the odds-on big favorite in his first steeplechase entry.
