One of the earliest sound films to include an actor exclaiming a curse word. Fifty minutes into the film, the character Paul, played by Carroll Nye, says, "Damnation".
In September 1928 Warner Bros. Pictures purchased a majority interest in First National Pictures, and from that point on all "First National" productions were actually made under Warner Bros. control, even though the two companies continued to retain separate identities until the mid-'30s, after which time "A Warner Bros.-First National Picture" was often used.
The play opened on Broadway at the 48th Street Theatre, 157 W. 48th St., in New York City, New York, USA on 11 November 1926 and closed in December 1927 after 444 performances. The opening night cast included Henry O'Neill, Dorothy Stickney and Blanche Yurka.
