This was bound to happen because just about anything can become a movie but Orange Is the New Black star, Taryn Manning, is on board to portray a fictional Karen in an upcoming suspense thriller about the unsavory stereotype. Writer and director Coke Daniels sees some story potential in the stereotype and is moving forward with a project that can be best described as the ultimate Karen movie. The film…...

One of the big movies that Marvel Studios is currently developing is The Eternals, which will officially be announced at Comic-Con next week. There have already been some casting announcements for the film that have been made including Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, and Salma Hayek.
According to Variety, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has also joined the cast! They mention her name in an article about what we can expect from Marvel at Comic-Con this year, and Brown is mentioned in a line up of names of actors who are part of The Eternals project.
No other information is given so we have no idea who she will be playing. The article just mentions her name in passing, like it’s something everyone already knew.

Marvel Studios is preparing to start production on The Eternals early next year. Chloe Zhaol (The Rider) is directing from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, and thanks to That Hashtag Show we have some new details to share with you regarding the list of characters who will appear in the film.
The Eternals was created by the great Jack Kirby, and the story is set millions of years ago “when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants.” Those two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race.
It was previously reported that the film will revolve around the female Eternal known as Sersi. The film will also introduce a wide-range of characters who most audiences won’t be familiar with.

Let us play the “Name Game”, shall we? Since we all are part of the experience here at the entertainment website known as Sound on Sight maybe we should pay homage to our online destination by celebrating it in an unconventional manner? Specifically, we can recognize Sound on Sight by acknowledging movie names that contain the words “sound” and “sight” in their titles.
However you may perceive this experimentation as being rather gimmicky and silly please realize that this movie column is also a means to recognize a few movie titles that are unfamiliar or perhaps a first-time discovery to some of you out there that never heard some of these cinematic selections. There may be a couple of well-known films in the bunch but collectively the features being mentioned in Sound on Sight: Top 10 Random “Sound” and “Sight” Movie Titles are aptly presented based on the theme at hand.

• Robert Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence — i.e. Lawrence of Arabia — in Queen of the Desert, a biopic of English writer and explorer Gertrude Bell (Naomi Watts), who worked with Lawrence to help establish the nation states of Jordan and Iraq after World War I. Director Werner Herzog also penned the screenplay, so it’s sure to be a lighthearted laugh riot. [Variety]
• Tobey Maguire is attached to produce and star in Z for Zachariah, an adaptation of the Robert C. O’Brien novel about a young woman who, thanks to the unique weather patterns of the small, self-contained valley where she lives,...

I wouldn’t be so foolish as to call the first signs of casting on a film — one which, to boot, hasn’t shot a second — “a career comeback,” but it’s undoubtedly the most relevant thing Juliette Lewis has landed in years. According to Deadline, the Natural Born Killers star has entered discussion to take part in August: Osage County, an Oscar-y stage adaptation that would put her in league with Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, and (possibly) Chris Cooper.
Proper signatures would have Lewis play Karen, the youngest daughter of the central Weston family. John Wells‘ film — itself the big-screen incarnation of an acclaimed play by Tracy Letts — sees this maternal group converge after their father disappears, and portrays how all the appropriate forms of familial anger only come to the surface from thereon out. Streep is locked to play Violet, a feisty and pill-loving patriarch who can’t...

This is the last of my lists of the best films of 2010, and the hardest to name. Call it the Best Art Films. I can't precisely define an Art Film, but I knew I was seeing one when I saw these. I could also call them Adult Films, if that term hadn't been devalued by the porn industry. These are films based on the close observation of behavior. They are not mechanical constructions of infinitesimal thrills. They depend on intelligence and empathy to be appreciated.
They also require acting of a precision not necessary in many mass entertainments. They require directors with a clear idea of complex purposes. They require subtleties of lighting and sound that create a self-contained world. Most of all, they require sympathy. The directors care for their characters, and ask us to see them as individuals, not genre emblems. That requires us to see ourselves as individual viewers,...
