Filmed in London, Leeds and St Kitts, this documentary film explores the life and work of novelist and playwright, Caryl Phillips. Phillips, born in the West Indies but brought up in Leeds, has written extensively about notions of home and his colonial inheritance both in his novels but also in his non-fiction. We follow the author back to the West Indies of his birth but also to Leeds where his fascination and examination of ideas of identity and belonging is matched only by his obsession with Leeds United Football Club.
