Last Saturday, one of the most awaited events of the 16th London Asian Film Festival took place at the BAFTA. ‘Remembering Yash Chopra’ was a tribute to Bollywood’s legendary director, but also to the husband, father and friend.
The director’s widow Pamela Chopra was joined by Professor Rachel Dwyer and actor Anupam Kher to share with the audience some of the most salient events in the director’s career, as well as their most cherished memories.
The evening started with the screening of The Master Stroke, a documentary directed by Vinky Singh. Inspired by the nine rasas used in Indian art forms, the film explores Yash Chopra’s career from his first work to his last.
In probably the most emotional moment of the evening, a visibly moved Pamela Chopra went on stage while singing some verses of Veer Zaara’s Tere Liye as she gazed at her late husband’s image.

Mumbai, Oct 13: In a dramatic, "dream come true" moment for Sangeeta Ghosh, megastar Amitabh Bachchan went down on his knees with a rose in his hand, and recited a dialogue from his movie "Silsila" for the actress on the set of "Kaun Banega Crorepati".
No, it wasn't real case of "Cheeni Kum" chemistry, but just a demonstration of a romantic proposal that Big B was giving to actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, Sangeeta's co-star in the show "Kehta Hai Dil...Jee Le Zara".
Sangeeta and Ruslaan made a special appearance on the show for its Dussehra special episode, which will be aired Sunday.
When the thespian, who turned 71 earlier this week, asked young Ruslaan as to when will his character finally express his feelings to Sangeeta's.

Mumbai, Oct 11: Turning 71 Friday reminded megastar Amitabh Bachchan of the speed with which the years are passing by. But the actor, who regales film and TV viewers with his presence even now, realises that ageing is inevitable.
Over the years, Big B has delivered memorable performances in movies like "Zanjeer", "Abhimaan", "Kabhie Kabhie", "Silsila", "Baghban" and "Paa".
"It is 71 now. Just last year or just the other day it was 70! The years seem to pass by faster now than they did before," Amitabh posted on his official blog srbachchan.tumblr.com.
"There was a desire to push the pedal all along those early years, to mature, to become adult, to bring on greater age. Now, you depress the brakes pedal with equal.
