Sex & Nudity
-
- A young girl takes a bath in a room full of men wandering back and forth. No nudity is shown.
- No sex. A young boy and a girl swim nude and lie in the sun, no genitals visible. Grown up nude males wash themselves outside in the snow, filmed from quite a distance. Neither of these scenes has any insinuation.
Violence & Gore
-
- The fighting scenes of the robbers are benign and full with jests at the opponent. No blood, visible or intentional pain, more like wrestling.
Profanity
-
- A lady gets mad and says a bunch of swearwords in Swedish. English viewers or viewers that don't speak Swedish won't understand these tho
- None. (my soundtrack is Swedish and I cannot judge that, but the Dutch subtitles contain no profanity.)
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- No drugs. No smoking. Mild beer consumption at 'robber parties', without intoxication.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- The screaming witchlike birds are kind of scary and will probably upset very young children. They charge at the children screaming with high-pitch voices that they are going to take the children, insinuating eating them. Adventure style, the children hide, and there is no real danger. Still, somewhat scary.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
- If impressionable children are overly worried after part 3, with a cliffhanger of heroine Ronja in a distressing situation -stuck in the snow, alone, expecting an attack of the witchlike birds, parents may opt to show the start of part 4 immediately, at the start of which the situation is resolved.
- One particularly strong scene features the death of one of the elder members of the group. Written in a style that is typical for Astrid Lindgren the scene is about death, but also life, and love. It will affect the younger and more sensitive viewers.
