Teenager Meg Griffin isn’t only an afterthought to her family (cartoon dad Peter regularly forgets about her existence even when she’s standing right next to him), the character also didn’t appear in the 1995 student film from which Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane developed his hit animated comedy.
MacFarlane made animated short ‘The Life of Larry’ while studying at the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1990s. It featured “loveable but tactless lower middle class” dad Larry, his supportive wife Lois, their heavy-set blonde, baseball-cap-wearing son Milt, and “incisive, cynical” talking dog named Steve, plus all the cutaway gags and pop culture parodies for which Family Guy would become famous… but no super-intelligent baby, and no butt-of-every-joke teenage daughter Meg.
One-off 1997 sequel ‘Larry and Steve’ lost Larry’s wife and son to focus on the talking dog, but by the time of the seven-minute 1998 Family Guy pilot,...

Family Guy‘s Season 21 finale has come, and with it, both Griffin siblings Meg (Mila Kunis) and Chris (Seth Green) do some growing up. In the aptly titled “Adult Education,” we see a continuation of the previous episode in which Meg marries a man in Russia. Meanwhile, Chris finds himself in need of an extracurricular activity in order to graduate high school and go to college — although the after-hour activities he finally lands on aren’t what his parents Lois and Peter had in mind. In TV Insider’s exclusive season finale clip, Chris walks into the living room to show his parents his yearbook. However, Chris isn’t present; even Peter is in it as part of the Peter Club. Lois warns if he doesn’t get involved in extracurricular activities, he won’t get into college, and “you’ll end up a garbage man or a congresswoman from Colorado.

For a “Saturday Night Live” star who has yet to headline a major motion picture, Pete Davidson is impressively eager to tear down his own comic persona. Writer-director Jason Orley’s debut feature “Big Time Adolescence” is all about how Davidson’s relaxed, immature comic persona is undeniably charming but can also get real old, real fast.
That’s not a problem with the movie; that’s the whole point of it. “Big Time Adolescence” stars Griffin Gluck (“Tall Girl”) as Monroe “Mo” Harris, a teenager whose best friend is Zeke (Davidson), the older kid who lets him watch R-rated movies, taste beer for the first time, and look at nude pictures of girls on his phone. Or, as Mo calls it, “adult stuff.”

He's really living up to the show name. When season four kicks off, it's been three months since the proposal and ghosting. Jimmy is hiding out and Gretchen, well, Gretchen is doing what every sane person does after being ghosted like that: Hiding out in Lindsay's (Kether Donohue) apartment and smoking crack. That is what every normal, well-adjusted person does, right? No? In the exclusive trailer below, get a sneak peek at what's in store when Gretchen, Jimmy, Lindsay and Edgar (Desmin Borges) return for new...

One of the most under-rated actors on this show has to be Candice Patton because her character hasn't had a major event on the show that has truly impacted her. Last night was Patton’s best performance yet, as she made the last moments of Iris West life shine more than any other character. From the beginning of the episode it seemed that Iris had already accepted her fate and knew that no matter what happened in the last 24 hours she was going to die. From the last conversation with her father Joe, to leaving Barry a video of her wedding vows, this show finally had its tough gut check moment for Team Flash. All thanks to the brilliant acting of Candice Patton. The previous two seasons of this show only saw the major events impact Barry and not the entire team, so they haven't had an event where everyone lost someone significant to them.

We finally got to see what happened to Alex on Grey's Anatomy Season 13 Episode 11. Well, sort of.
After a standalone premiere, we returned to the hospital where Richard, Jackson, and April staged a mutiny against Eliza Minnick. Jo, still dealing with the news that Alex took the deal, was distracted and having a rough time on her shift. Ben took it upon himself to look after her.
Meredith spent the entire episode in search of Alex, only to find out that he was home sleeping in her bed the entire time.
Below, TV Fanatics Amanda, Tiffany, and Jasmine as they break down "Jukebox Hero."
They discuss their theories on how Alex evaded prison, what's going on with Jo and whether or not Amelia is behaving immaturely. They'll also talk about the mutiny and grade the episode.
Join the discussion!
Thoughts on the Alex reveal? What are you theories about how he avoided prison?...

There’s a storytelling trope in which a person being interrogated, in the heat of the moment, makes up a name using whatever he sees in front of him — and it often involves coffee. In 1987’s “Hiding Out,” Jon Cryer adopts the name “Maxwell Hauser” after seeing some Maxwell House. In 1995’s “The Usual Suspects,” Kevin Spacey describes a scary character named Mr. Kobayashi after reading the name off the bottom of a cup. In the fifth episode of HBO’s “The Night Of,” which ends Sunday, writer Richard Price drops a big clue about what kind of writer he is.

I'm just on the other end of shotgunning eight hours of Netflix's new series Stranger Things, and I'm still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster ride. Right off the bat: if you're thinking this is a show oriented toward kids (which is sort of what I thought), you're so wrong. While creating a feeling of youthful nostalgia and adventure, Stranger Things deals with some heavier themes during its inaugural eight episode season as it constantly mines your emotions, but we'll get there soon enough. If you haven't had the opportunity to waste eight hours straight in front of a TV, and maybe you're wondering if it's worth it...
Yeah, it's worth it.
Set in 1980s Indiana, Stranger Things begins with the escape of an unseen creature from a secure government lab, which serves as the starting gun to a series of mysterious and eerie events that overtake a small town, mainly...

Jon Cryer was on Howard Stern Tuesday morning to promote the paperback edition of his 2015 memoir So That Happened, a book that laid bare a number of juicy details from his life in the Hollywood trenches. After breaking through as the lovable "Duckie" in Pretty in Pink, Cryer's career went into virtual freefall as his next several films -- including the legendary flop Superman IV: The Quest for Peace -- tanked at the box office. His fortunes turned only when he booked the soon-to-be-mega-hit series Two and a Half Men in 2003, but the years in between were filled with major missed opportunities and various other career disappointments -- by his own admission, he worked just three weeks as an actor over a three-year period. So what dirt did he have to spill during the Stern Show sit-down? Below I've rounded up the juiciest portions of the interview, from his Pretty in Pink...

The closer we get to fall, the closer we get to the end of an era. With the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.Part 2 this November, the massively popular saga draws to a close. We.ve seen a few innocuous pictures from the impending blockbuster, but now they.ve dropped an exciting first trailer in our laps. Check it out for yourself below. When we last left Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), and the rest of the citizens of the dystopian world of Panem, they were on the brink of war and things were getting grim. Hiding out in the underground bunkers of District 13, which until then they thought had been destroyed, the heroes were bombed, had a massive propaganda campaign waged against them, and Katniss was trying to cope with the trauma inflicted upon her over the course of the first two films.

Since 1962, the James Bond franchise has come to define the spy genre, for good or ill. More broadly, every thriller and action film that comes out now either uses them as inspiration, or attempts to ignore or re-work the tropes that have come to be associated with the series.

You may have heard that Kim Kardashian stripped down in the new issue of Paper magazine. She gave us a splashy cover, a scandalous backside shot, and now this unbelievable frontal shot. Paper luckily has a version of the picture that isn't so Nsfw, and it's posted below. (The original Nsfw version is here.) Let's name all the reasons it is great. 1. That hair. Just... What is it? Did you know Kim Kardashian lived in feudal Japan, because I didn't. It is something. 2. I like the hint of butt. Just a pinch. Hiding out. A soupcon of ass. 3. You know Kanye West saw this picture and immediately screamed "Art" to no one in particular. 4. Yes, I will call it "bad-ass" that Kim Kardashian -- who is well aware she became popular thanks to a sex tape -- posed for photographs wearing nothing but a million pearl necklaces. 5. That facial expression!

Boy George has been a part of our lives for well over thirty years, and was one of the first great stars of the MTV generation. As quickly as his star rose, though, it fell to earth, thanks to years of substance abuse.
Now clean and sober, he’s never been to scale those early heights again, but he’ll always be our Boy George, a reminder of the fun of early 80′s pop music, and we’ll always have that voice … soulful, vulnerable, and warm.

Crime dramas based on real-life cases have to hew a careful line when dealing with their subject matter. It’s also important to find the right cast, and director Jerry Jameson has some solid choices in David Oyelowo, Kate Mara, Mimi Rogers and Leonor Varela for Captive. With a script by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke adapted from Ashley Smith’s memoir An Unlikely Angel, Captive finds Oyelowo as Brian Nichols, a prisoner who broke out of a courthouse jail cell in Atlanta in 2005, shot dead the judge and several others in the court and fled.Hiding out from a manhunt, he took Smith hostage in her own apartment. Despite her own struggles with meth addiction and trying to raise her family as a single mother, Smith managed to reason with Nichols using Rick Warren’s advice book A Purpose Driven Life. Jameson is set to roll the cameras later this month.

Friends, Gleeks, bring on the tears. Also, for Burt Hummel’s sake be sure to hug someone you love after watching this gut wrenching tribute to everyone’s favorite quarterback, Finn Hudson.
I should start out this review with one minor disclaimer: I am a former Gleek. I stopped watching around the time Blaine transferred to McKinley because I felt that was when the show really jumped the shark (or nuked the fridge, your choice). That being said, Finn was always my favorite character from the beginning and for me personally, as well as most Gleeks more than likely, tonight’s episode literally caused physical pain as we watched the raw emotion of the actors mourning their friend Cory Monteith, taken from us far too early by the demons of addiction. There was no way I wasn’t going to go back for just this one night.

The Walking Dead, Season 3, Episode 10: “Home”
Written by Nichole Beattie
Directed by Seith Mann
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC
The midseason premiere of AMC’s third season of The Walking Dead left many people worried. While the third season has been, by and large, a vast improvement over Season two, last week’s “The Suicide King” was a major disappointment. Thankfully the series picked up this week. “Home” is an impressively directed episode that delivers everything you could want from The Walking Dead: clever direction, lashings of gore, a witty, intelligent script, strong characters and two particularly amazing action-set-pieces.
So what makes “Home” so much better than “The Suicide King”? Well for starters, The Walking Dead creators seem to know how to direct action as well as they create scares. Sure the special effects team over at AMC does gore to perfection, but The Walking Dead...

Isn’t it adorable that Taylor and Harry are so comfortable kissing and being touch feely in public! Don’t you think Rob and Kristen should stop worrying about hiding their feelings in public?
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles — it’s so refreshing that you aren’t trying to hide your feelings for each other when you’re in public.
Harry & Taylor Pda
It was so sweet to see you kissing passionately and repeatedly in NYC’s Time Square on New Year’s Eve, after Taylor’s show-stopping performance.
When you kissed and hugged, welcoming in 2013, you were just like tens of thousands of other couples in Times’s Square also sharing their love at midnight. It was a completely natural and human thing to do.
When Harry grabbed your butt affectionately for a few seconds, Taylor, it was just what lots of non-celeb boyfriends do all the time with their girls.

Immediately after watching this week's episode of Misfits, I bought stock in Kleenex, poured myself a glass of wine and called Ae headquarters.
"Can I just put up a bunch of pictures of shirtless Future Simon and call it a day? How about I just write love Shakespearian-like sonnets? That would be good, right? What if I just--"
"What if you just recap the show?"
Ugh! Fine! I'll recap this week's episode, but I'm not happy about it. Don't get me wrong. It was a strong episode… Too strong. As in, I want to find series creator, Howard Overman, and lay into him in a way that would even get Ianto Jones fans to say, "Dude, it's only a television show."
The episode begins just where we left off. Future Simon, in shirtless (yummmmm!) glory, stares at the series of countdown clocks. Alisha walks up behind him and implores him...

Fans of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” may do well to look at a concept-in-action, “Murkwood”. It will no doubt borrow on some ideas from Lynch's work, and it may move in a different direction so some surprise will come at the end. This movie is from the mindset of writer/director Alex Boutellier. This 13-year veteran of the Swiss film and TV scene has been producing, writing and directing a fair number of short films—some of which has seen international distribution. His dramatic pieces "A Mile to Midsummer" and "Grooves" can be viewed online. Interest can potentially be high in a movie described as “fast-paced 90-minute thriller that combines crime drama with psychological horror.” But first, this product is seeking international funding from both investors and fans alike. The plot revolves around three career criminals Peter Buck, Eddie Coyne and Lucien Thaler. They plot to kidnap the son...

Not only is this victory his 16th gold and 20th medal overall, but it is Phelps' third straight Olympic victory in the 200m individual medley. Even though Summit says they are moving forward without a hitch for the upcoming 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' flick, HollywoodLife.com has learned that's not the case. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may very well be kept totally separate from each other during the upcoming appearances to promote Breaking Dawn Part Two. A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Summit is "very scared" about how things will turn out in the weeks leading up to Nov. 18, when the film hits theaters. "Summit is thinking about doing separate press conferences and interviews for Rob and Kristen," our source says. "So they don't have to be anywhere near each other if they don't want to be. It's an option and is being discussed." Robert Pattinson reportedly now hiding out at costar Reese Witherspoon's house. According to a new report from Us Weekly, Twilight Saga mega star Robert Pattinson has run off to his "Water For Elephants" co-star Reese Witherspoon's very nice ranch in Ojai,California to hide out while he gets his thoughts clear after the huge Kristen Stewart cheating scandal. The ranch reportedly costs a whopping $7 million dollars,so it's quite nice. Their sources claim that Rob is a total mess right now. " He’s questioning everything." On the other side of the coin, they went on to explain that Kristen is very much dying to save the relationship, and "It’s the only thing she cares about" right now. It also turns out that Reese is the perfect person to help Rob through this whole thing as she was cheated on by her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe back in 2006 with Abbie Cornish.

Though Rob 'isn't going to be able to get beyond the cheating,' a friend says he agreed to stop ignoring Kristen's desperate texts and calls. Robert Pattinson is heartbroken over Kristen Stewart's affair with Rupert Sanders — there's no doubt about that — but a new report from People reveals the (former) couple has opened the doors of communication. Following the news of her "momentary indiscretion," Kristen had flooded Rob's phone with "tearful" text messages. "This has been such a low blow to Rob," the source explains. "Talk about having your heart ripped out." And we're sure Rob and Kristen have plenty to talk about! Rob is reportedly upset about how public their problems have become, particularly with her decision to make a huge statement. "It's heart-wrenching for such a private person," the source says. Rupert's feelings were far stronger than Kristen's, claims a source, adding that he 'lured' her into their affair. A lot of words have been thrown around to downplay Kristen Stewart's confirmed affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, words like "momentary indiscretion" and "storm in a teacup." But a new report uses a very different, more pointed word to describe Rupert's feelings towards his young ingenue: "infatuated." "Rupert had been infatuated with [Kristen] since the production [of Swath], but she always kept it professional because she loved [Robert Pattinson]," a source tells People. "She still does. It only became a flirtation recently, and she was lured into a brief situation that she never wanted." While Kristen deals with the fallout of her mistake, Rob is reportedly hiding out at Reese Witherspoon's ranch in Ojai, Calif. [People]

If it’s still possible, try to imagine science fiction before man went into space, before walking on the moon, well before Star Wars ever hit the movie screens. We used to think that other worlds were inhabited by humans and monsters alike. Every piece of fiction had some strong romantic element and hope was in abundance. That’s the era that John Carter caters to.
Based on the literary works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, who also created Tarzan, John Carter (Taylor Kitsch, Friday Night Lights) is the story of a Civil War veteran that’s a long way away from his native Virginia, stuck fighting Apaches in Arizona. Hiding out in a cave, Carter is suddenly transported to Mars when he comes into contact with Martian technology; the Mars we explore in particular is the one that was dreamed of and fantasized as a world just like ours, only further out from the sun.

Earlier today the folks over at EatSleepLiveFilm put up a list of what they called the ’100 Best Films of the 80s’ and whilst their list was full of awesome films – covering a plethora of genres and touching base on a number of the decades best and most-loved movies – upon reading it, and as a 80s aficionado, I found there to be quite a few glaring omissions. Hence this “rebuttal” – a list of 50 films (in no particular order) that Didn’T make Eslf’s Top 100 that I think are some of the best of the 80s, including some that might surprise you…
