Girl gets whacked on head and goes nympho.
=G=17 August 2001
"Sins of the Mind" tells of a young middle class woman who sustains a head injury in an auto accident which results in compulsive sexual behavior. A trite and shallow drama with a soapy made-for-tv "feel", "Sins..." is not a sexploitation flick but rather focuses on the effects of the accident on the principal, her family and friends. The flick fails to develop the character prior to the accident so all we see is the result with nothing to compare it with. The collateral damage wears itself out quickly as this flick slowly sinks into a morass of all-in-the-family squabbles while little miss "bonkers" is doing every guy in town. A very forgettable drama which quickly turns into terminal boredom.

A Dilemma
Theo Robertson5 August 2003
Michelle , a young woman from a succesful family is injured in a road accident and when she recovers she seems to have a totally changed personality and now indulges in multiple sexual relationships

This premise of having a daughter become a stranger to her family must have posed a bit of a dilemma to the producers: Pull your punches and you`ve got another bland disease of the week TVM , make it gritty and emphasise how self destructive meaningless sex can be and you`ll be accused of exploitation . Unfortunately we seem to have the worst of both worlds especially where the sex is concerned ( And for the record I watched this on BBC television and felt it had been edited ) which seemed like a soft core porno . That said SINS OF THE MIND does have its rare moments and you really do feel for Michelle`s parents but when you compare it to the drug addicted daughter subplot from TRAFFIC you realise SINS OF THE MIND is a missed opportunity

Not Exactly R-Rated
jennie04096 December 2002
After I saw "Sins of the Mind" on Lifetime, I checked out the summary on imdb.com. I saw that when the movie was released, it was rated R. Now either someone cut out all the bad parts so this movie could be on TV, or the people who rate movies weren't paying much attention. I am Christian, so I don't watch rated-R movies. This movie wasn't as dirty or sinful as all the reviews say....at least not once it's on TV. This movie is sad, because you, the viewer, are sitting there watching someone battle an illness; an addiction, and instead of being understanding, you know that people are going to think this girl is just insane or sinful. She simply couldn't control herself; she couldn't control that part of her brain. The movie gets going pretty fast, and it's pretty good throughout, and then the ending is really not final. It kind of just ends, which is a disappointment. But I still recommend this movie to anyone who is a frequent Lifetime TV viewer.... a Lifetime movie is exactly what you're in for.

Mike Farrell & Jill Clayburgh were Fantastic!

Found this Lifetime TV film very interesting and captivated my attention from beginning to end. Jill Clayburgh,(Eve),"Vallin",'01, was the mother in this picture and her daughter, Missy Crider,(Michelle Widener),"Gigli",'03, had a very bad car accident which caused her to change her personality completely. Michelle had a strong compulsion to have sex with everyone and caused a tremendous Monster for the family to try and solve. Mike Farrell,(William),"The Clinic",'04, was the father and went to all extremes in order to help his daughter find herself mentally in this WORLD. This is truly a story about the great love parents have for their children no matter how they turn out in life.

Missy Crider plays good girl Sharon in this USA original movie. After a car wreck Sharon becomes impulsive doing things she never normally did. She soon begins to sleep with every guy who crosses her path, steals, and doesn't work well with others. Soon her mother and sister have turned against as her Dad tries to frantically figure out how to help her. This movie is quite interesting with good acting by all
