Extremely amusing Damiano comedy
lor_5 November 2021
Gerard Damiano's "Deep Throat" porn comedy is often considered the beginning of Adult Cinema, in terms of its phenomenal success just a couple of years after XXX features were first shown publicly, and this unsung comedy late in his career is funnier and quite entertaining.

The director's sharp dialogue holds up quite well, fresh two decades later as he pokes fun at his profession and lightly mocks the cliches of religion. He even stars as God, not the one we're familiar with but rather an amusing fellow who calls Satan (played as Nick with great humor by Randy Spears) up to heaven to make a "clean dirty movie" for him. Heaven is filled with "NO SMOKING" signs, and when Nick offers God a cigarette, Damiano responds: "I'm trying to quit".

With its light-hearted mood and friendly sex scenes what emerges is something of a "clean dirty movie", and features an impressive cast. Danielle Rogers is a knockout as Angel, literally an angel in heaven who serves as sort of a receptionist at the Pearly Gates, while zoftig Alicyn Sterling is delightful as Cleopatra, yes that Cleopatra, who is Nick's lover in Hell who he enlists as leading lady in his movie for God. He's also been assigned to come up with new commandments, chief of which is Spears' attempt to eliminate guilt, just one of Damiano's clever fairly serious notions slipped in among the humorous bon mots.

A large cast is put to work in an orgy scene, and other historical/mythic figures worked into the show are Adam & Eve (Woody Long and Angela Summers), Mark Anthony (Buck Adams) and Attila the Hun (T. T. Boy), latter two having a threesome with Cleopatra.
