Not totally kosher spy thriller.
uds312 November 2001
Probably in aid of some home-front propaganda, this wartime-made flick is not a little confusing in its execution. A tale of espionage and counter espionage as a German agent tries to sabotage an Australian munitions plant's operation by stopping the exploration of a particular mineral required for the factory's continued production of weaponry.

Acting is uniformly good without reaching any memorable heights. Direction is weak and the prime reason for watching the flick is Arthur Higgins exceptionally good B & W photography. At just 68 minutes however, rampant boredom is cut to a minimum.

Australia did not make that many war films and to be fair, this was not a critical failure by any means, simply devoid of much interest.
