Having won a BAFTA (and landed an Oscar nomination) for her role as Colin Farrell’s kind-hearted but cynical — and distinctly less donkey-friendly — sister in Martin McDonagh’s darkly comic “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Kerry Condon is back in her native Ireland for her next film role.
Set in the height of the Troubles in the mid-1970s, Robert Lorenz’s Irish Western “In the Land of Saints and Sinners,” which launches on Netflix Friday, sees the actress ditch all niceties to play a hard-nosed, mean-as-hell, extremely potty-mouthed and very violent Ira gang leader trying to lie low in rural Donegal following a deadly pub bombing. But it’s not long before she’s up against Liam Neeson, whose demeanor as a quiet widow and secondhand book dealer masks a secret identity as a local hitman for Colm Meaney’s village mobster. Sylvester Stallone may be one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, but even though he’s got a lot of successful blockbuster films out there, he’s also had his fair share of flopped projects. Not only did these films tank at the box office but they were also critically slammed.
Sylvester Stallone in Rocky
It’s not easy to determine what kind of films make great profits because people’s preferences and global trends change. However, some of Stallone’s most loathed works were projects he did not carefully choose, or those where his vision was not followed.
Sylvester Stallone Shares Movies He Awfully Regrets
One of Sylvester Stallone’s most awfully unforgettable movies was 1992’s Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. He did this alongside Hollywood rival Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was the mastermind in encouraging Stallone to take on the project. The former professional bodybuilder told the...

Hallmark Mystery may have a new name in 2024, but the thrills it provides remain. Alison Sweeney, who talked with TV Fanatic about Hannah Swensen Mysteries: One Bad Apple, understands.
When the Murder, She Baked franchise ended, she swung around and brought the Hannah Swensen mysteries to another level. It's some of the most fun you can have watching TV as Hannah cooks up mouth-watering delights and stumbles into a warm body far too often.
One Bad Apple marks another turning point for the series -- the departure of Hannah's long-time cohort and love, Mike.
Fear not, faithful Hannah Swensen devotees, because Alison's good friend and former costar Victor Webster joins the cast as the pragmatic (and handsome) new prosecuting attorney, Chad Norton.
Alison enthusiastically breaks down the latest entry in the Hannah Swensen series in our interview below. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for talking with me today.
Yeah, happy to do it.

Apart from the aviators of the Air Force and Navy’s fighter jets, Formula One is the only sport where the athletes experience match-level speeds daily in training and on the track. Therefore, Tom Cruise had the genius idea of bringing Lewis Hamilton, one of the biggest names in the sport, on board for his 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick.
Tom Cruise in a still from Top Gun: Maverick
This was an opportunity of a lifetime that anyone would’ve taken up in a heartbeat, especially when it came from a Hollywood icon. Despite this, Hamilton had to decline the offer as he wasn’t a well-trained actor, which is why he didn’t want the film to suffer because of him. But naturally, he also regretted making that decision as he wished he was better suited to be a part of the project.

Javier Bardem is renowned for all the badass characters — heroic or villainous — that he has efficiently embodied despite being a softie on the inside himself. A mastermind who never ceases to channel his feelings with utmost perfection, the Spanish actor has bagged one too many critically commended roles in blockbuster masterpieces.
Javier Bardem in No Country for Men
That being said, the next project he would be seen in would inevitably be Brad Pitt’s upcoming untitled Formula One movie. But what fans don’t know is that Javier Bardem just might not have taken up the role had it not been for one six-season smash-hit Netflix documentary series. The series apparently had him hooked enough for him to join Pitt’s version of Top Gun: Maverick!

Apple has spared no expense with its embrace of movie theaters, shelling out $200 million to produce historical epics, war dramas and action comedies… all while the global box office contracts and rivals scramble to tighten their budgets.
For most studios, these expenditures would be ruinous at a time when hardly any movie is earning enough money to justify that kind of budget. As one of the deepest-pocketed companies in the world, though, Apple’s spending habits in the entertainment space are jokingly called rounding errors. But can the tech behemoth keep spending big on big-screen misfires? Or will a string of underperforming blockbusters eventually force Apple to economize?
That’s the big question after Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller “Argylle” bombed in its debut with $18 million domestically and a disastrous $35 million globally. It’s the third consecutive Apple release where an outsized budget will make it nearly impossible for the...

Imax CEO Richard Gelfond says major studios making high profile changes to their tentpole release slates after the resolution of the Hollywood actors strike means 2025 will be very good year for his global big screen network.
“Because some things couldn’t go into production because of the (actors) strike, when the strike settled it was like a land grab for 2025. So our summer late is almost completely booked up for 2025,” Gelfond told the Wells Fargo Tmt Summit on Wednesday.
He looked to Avatar 3 coming out in Christmas 2025, while the summer season that year will see the latest from the Top Gun and Superman franchises also roll out on Imax screens. The film technologies company is also near to nailing down a 2025 slot for Apple’s Brad Pitt highly anticipated Formula One movie directed by Joseph Kosinski, who was behind Top Gun: Maverick.

Serena Williams found herself in the midst of drama and controversy within the Formula One arena after her recent remark about Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.

Wolff asserted that he was fuelled by "personal anger" to help the British driver achieve this historic milestone that eluded him back in 2021 in quite dubious circumstances. Hamilton has won seven world championships on the race track (level with Michael Schumacher for the most titles).

The Mean One, along with Mad Heidi and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was part of an unexpected crop of horror and exploitation films based on children’s tales that dropped last Christmas. Since Dr. Suess’ Grinch is still under copyright the makers of this film had to change a few names to bring us the tale of Cindy You-Know-Who and the residents of Newville’s battle against the evil green creature known as The Mean One.
Our story begins with a familiar flashback accompanied by the rhyming narration of Christopher Sanders but, in a twist, just as young Cindy (Saphina Chanadet; Balance of the Force) is about to change The Mean One’s attitude her mother appears and attacks him, getting herself killed in the process.

Exclusive: Tobias Menzies was hiding in plain sight at a rally held by UK actors union Equity in support of its sister union SAG-AFTRA.
Cameras and microphones were being shoved in front of the likes of Brian Cox, Imelda Staunton, Jim Carter, Hayley Atwell, David Oyelowo, Naomie Harris and many others, but Menzies was just out of shot.
Had Menzies been wearing a bespoke suit, shirt, tie and nice polished shoes, the penny might have dropped for some in the media scrum.
He won an Emmy for his portrayal of Prince Philip in Seasons 3 and 4 of Netflix and Left Bank Pictures’ The Crown.
Then there’s Nicole Holofcener’s sharply observed — satisfyingly so — arch comedy You Hurt My Feelings, which is available on digital platforms in the U.S. and streaming on Prime Video in the U.K. from August 8.

Brad Pitt is getting embedded in the world of Formula One racing for his forthcoming film. The actor and producer was in England over the weekend, where he joined some F1 racers on the grid ahead of the British Grand Prix.
Pitt joined other racers at Silverstone Circuit in London on Sunday, where he was shooting scenes on location for his upcoming Formula One film.
Pitt was decked out in full racing gear and was joined by his co-star, Damson Idris — both of whom looked like professional F1 drivers as they walked out onto the grid to observe the national anthem.

As Ted Sarandos once said, Netflix isn’t “anti-sports,” they’re “pro-profit” — and it turns out the streamer may have found a live sports event that’s worth taking a swing at.
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Netflix is in talks to livestream the rights to a Las Vegas celebrity golf tournament, one that would actually feature stars from two of Netflix’s more popular sports shows, the golf series “Full Swing” and the Formula One series “Drive to Survive.”
The event would be its first foray into the live sports space, something that’s been debated at Netflix for over a year but that they’ve so far stayed out of, even as the dollars spent for other sports rights has exploded. But while it’s unclear at this stage, this could be just a one-off event hosted by Netflix rather than the streamer buying an entire league’s streaming rights.

Netflix is reportedly in talks to livestream a celebrity golf tournament slated to take place this fall in Las Vegas, which would be the streamer’s first foray into live sports.
The tournament will include celebrities from the Netflix Formula One series “Drive to Survive” and golfing documentary “Full Swing.” Sources told The Wall Street Journal that the talks are in the preliminary stages, and a spokesperson for Netflix declined to comment.
The potential move into live sports comes after Netflix co-ceo Ted Sarandos told a Ubs investor conference in December that the company had “not seen a profit path” to “renting big sports.” At the time, Sarandos said that the economics surrounding live sports are “built around the economics of pay television” and “dramatically more expensive” on streaming.

For the past 20 years, Jason Sudeikis has been one of the most prominent voices in American comedy. The actor and comedian came into the world with at least one showbiz connection -- his uncle is George Wendt of "Cheers" fame -- but he has carved out his own unique space in film and television, outwardly the clean-cut straight man, but with deep reserves of cynicism hidden underneath a bright smile. Sudeikis got his start with the Second City improv troupe before eventually being hired by "Saturday Night Live," where his career really took off. Since working on the show for a decade, he has developed a thriving career that encompasses television, independent dramedies, and big-budget blockbusters.
His filmography showcases a keen eye for both interesting characters with unexpected facets to their personality and projects that capitalize on his strengths as a performer. Over the years, Sudeikis has earned rave reviews from both audiences and critics,...

Sky Sports Formula One commentators David Croft and Karun Chandhok couldn’t resist poking fun at Fernando Alonso amid those Taylor Swift romance rumours.

Despite the pair not confirming anything, the Spanish racing driver did share a cheeky TikTok clip of himself lifting weights to the tune of Swift’s “22” over the weekend, winking at the camera.

The editor of a German magazine that ran an “interview” with former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher – including quotes generated by artificial intelligence – has been sacked.
The publishers of Die Aktuelle, a weekly magazine owned by Funke media group – have also apologised to Schumacher’s family, who said this week they planned legal action.
Funke managing director Bianca Pohlmann announced: “This tasteless and misleading article should never have appeared. It in no way meets the standards of journalism that we and our readers expect from a publisher like Funke.
“As a result of the publication of this article, immediate personnel consequences will be drawn. Die Aktuelle editor-in-chief Anne Hoffmann, who has held journalistic responsibility for the paper since 2009, will be relieved of her duties as of today.”
The magazine ran a front cover of Schumacher, with a headline that read, “Michael Schumacher, the first interview.” The strapline added: “it sounded deceptively real.
