Good entry in John Nesbitt's Passing Parade series takes a look at how your life might not be saved if you were out to sea without a doctor on the ship. We then see a couple advances in the medical and equipment world that changed this. One was the wireless communication and the other was the radio, which allowed doctors to lend their voices to issues going on on the ship. XXX MEDICO is a pretty good film in the series, which contains all of the good and bad elements of other films in the series. If you're familiar with the series then you know that the stories can be quite over-dramatic at times and that's certainly the case here. There are countless times where the music score is just going crazy trying to pump up the drama. Still, there are many good elements here including the history lesson of learning how things changed throughout a period of time. There's even talk about how the wireless service saved over a hundred lives when a ship hit an iceberg. Of course, that makes you think of the real disaster that would happen two years later. Fans of the series will certainly enjoy this one as the story is good and as usual Nesbitt does a nice job with the narration.
