Tom Green has cancer. It is early 2000, and he is about to go under for surgery, and guess what? He’s recording the whole thing because he would like to educate you on the world of testicular cancer, and if you can see his internal organs while doing so, so be it. And so there he is at 28 years old in a hospital gown, making jokes while medical professionals get ready to chop off one of his nuts. “This is going to freaking suck,” he says. But, if we know anything about him, nothing is off limits for Tom Green. It was the ultimate combination of tragedy and comedy; you have a young man in his prime facing death while telling the world’s greatest testicle joke. This comedian turned cancer into performance art, which made me believe God might have a twisted sense of humor… kinda like Tom Green himself.

MovingFast Pictures, proudly presents its debut release, “Anti-Wonderful,” a bizarre cinematic experience that seamlessly blends elements of horror and nihilistic humor. Prepare to embark on a journey like no other as a group of death-loving misfits recklessly share their provocative beliefs with the audience. Brace yourself for a unique blend of sketches, interviews, and possibly real stories, all subject to being booed, disregarded, and dissected by the cult that propels its own propaganda.
As a DIY production, “Anti-Wonderful” pays homage to the offbeat charm of early ’90s TV shows such as “The Tom Green Show,” while embracing the contemporary weirdness further enhanced by “The Eric Andre Show.” However, this film fearlessly embraces its darker side, interweaving horror themes with nods to serial killers and blood-soaked dramatizations. Prepare to witness the dangers that unfold when nihilistic misfits unite to spread their macabre ideology.

Tom Green may have not been crowned the official winner of Celebrity Big Brother on Wednesday night, but he still managed to make it through 24 days of the 29 day shoot and outlast the likes of Ryan Lochte, Joey Lawrence, Kato Kaelin and the WWE’s Natalie Eva Marie. Along the way, he proved to be an incredibly savvy player even if his goofy, late night antics, which delighted the Big Brother faithful plugged into the 24/7 live cams, irritated some of his housemates. At the end, he was voted “America’s...

Erich Bergen is opening up about his life-changing health crisis for the first time.
In the new issue of People, the actor reveals that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2013 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy to treat the disease.
Now in remission and ready to share his story, the actor — who stars alongside Téa Leoni in Madam Secretary — hopes to spread awareness.
“Men, in general, don’t like talking about this stuff, which is why men die from it,” says Bergen, 31. “There has to be more conversation about it — there’s nothing to be ashamed about.”

I hadn’t seen or heard anything about Tom Green for a long time before he appeared on the newest season of The Celebrity Apprentice. He had appeared in a few movies, like Road Trip and Stealing Harvard, dated Drew Barrymore, and then just kind of fell off the face of the Earth. I like Tom Green in movies, but – as my buddy Nick says – he’s also put on a leash of sorts. When he had his own show on MTV, though, Green was allowed to do pretty much whatever he wanted. I was a big fan of the

Director: Tom Green. Writers: Tom Green and Jay Basu. Cast: Johnny Harris, Sam Keeley, Joe Dempsie, Parker Sawyers. Monsters: Dark Continent is the sequel to Gareth Edwards' 2010 film, Monsters. The sequel takes place ten years after the first, when the threat has reached a global scale. The only thing the two films share is the fact that the monsters themselves play a minor role, and that they lack entertainment value. Other than that, the two films are essentially unrelated. In Dark Continent, writer/director Tom Green (not of "The Tom Green Show") revolves his story around a group of infantile roughneck soldiers from the ruins of Detroit who have been recruited to head to the Middle East for a special mission. Unfortunately, Green's own mission is not clear—is this a sci-fi action flick, a creature-feature, or a war film? Whatever the case, neither was executed well. Furthermore, the...

1999 will always be one of my favorite years for movies. This is partially because there were a lot of great movies released that year, but mainly because in 1999 I was in high school, and as we all know, the world was more important and less terrible when we were in high school. Last week, I took a look at which movies from 1999 had aged well, and asked which had aged poorly. The response was overwhelming, insofar as it's overwhelming that anyone likes American Beauty. However, one reader email in particular struck me as a launchpad for an important conversation. Here...

Tom Green says that during his fight with testicular cancer he had a religious experience in the shower of a house owned by his landlord, William Shatner. Yes, William Shatner. Green said in the "Wtf with Marc Maron" podcast this week that Shatner was once his landlord. And it was in Shatner's house that he decided to try prayer. It was in the late '90s, a surreal time in Green's life: He had an MTV hit with "The Tom Green Show," he was dating Drew Barrymore, and he was renting a Los...

You have watched him hump a dead moose, slurp milk straight from the source, and drop rhymes about the many whereabouts of his buttocks. What you haven’t seen Tom Green do is his own stand-up special. That changes tonight with the debut of Tom Green Live (Showtime, 10 p.m. Et/Pt, repeats tomorrow and later this month). The 41-year-old comedian, who has been on tour for the last two years, offers up an hour-long, energy-strong Boston gig that covers such topics as texting, pornography, celebrity, and Saddam Hussein’s junk. The worst thing you can say about Brand X, Russell Brand’s new FX-sponsored experiment in late-night comedy, is that the show has so many clashing tones and underlying concepts that it feels like a mulch of about 50 different ideas mashed into a half hour. The show looks a little bit like a stand-up set filmed at your local high school. Brand moves around on stage, delivering jokes in front of a studio audience. The show’s logo looks like leftover publicity material from the early days of SpikeTV; the set is backdropped by a John Paul Goode map illustrated...

The Film
Tom Green's studio directorial debut, the infamous Freddy Got Fingered (2001) is a film I've wanted to redeem even since I began writing for Pajiba in 2009. I acknowledge that the task ahead of me is Sisyphean, as the film boasts an 11% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes (7% if limited to "Top Critics"). Yet, the film does have its share of eloquent defenders, most notably A.O. Scott's thoughtful analysis in The New York Times and Nathan Rabin's dissection for The Av Club's series, "My Year of Flops." I've been ambivalent to write this piece because of intimidation. Not an intimidation of the film or my own affection towards it (and whatever wild eyed, gasps of disbelief it may produce) but because, quite simply, Scott and Rabin are far greater writers than I and I felt that my contribution would merely be the equivalent of whipping a dead horse. Well,...

Don’t feel bad for Tom Green. Sure, less than a decade ago, he was on top of the world. He had a hugely successful show on MTV, The Tom Green Show, where he tormented friends and strangers and did foul things to animals both living and dead. He had a novelty song called “Lonely Swedish (The Bum Bum Song)” that, despite lyrics which sounded as if they’d been improvised by a five-year-old boy—”I gotta get the poo off my bum!”—became a monster hit on MTV’s Total Request Live. He was featured on magazine covers, hosted Saturday Night Live, directed and starred in a movie called Freddy Got Fingered that had stodgy old critics screaming for his head, and married Drew Barrymore for a dizzying five months. Even his testicular cancer became a ratings hit. But then, seemingly overnight and for no apparent reason, Green disappeared.
