CFF with local flavour

Warning: Spoilers
Another Children's Film Foundation movie, this time hailing from Scotland. Lots of local scenery and colour from the local characters give it a regional flair and flavour although the plot is a little episodic and stretched at times. It mixes in a backdrop of the local fishing industry and kids ganging together to try to improve their boat with sub-plot involving a newcomer trying to fit in and a group of local ponies on an island that the kids are trying to catch. There are some fun characters at play here and I particularly liked the interactions between the kids, although also some plot holes and head-scratching times. The best moment is a stunt scene of a kid being dragged by a horse.

Small Fry

Children's Film Foundation film set in a harbour in Scotland, where the main preoccupation seems to be catching wild ponies rather than fish. Some nice scenery but not a terribly interesting plot.
