Quirky no-budget thriller
filmhead-213 April 1999
The performance by Melik Malkasian makes this strange little black comedy worth while. Malkasian plays Val, a sociopath who teams up with his girlfriend to kill her molesting father and collect the insurance money. Unfortunately, they aren't very bright and all the wrong people end up dead. Shot for under $25,000, the film played at the New York and Chicago Underground Film Fests, and drew the attention of Roger Ebert, but hasn't been picked up for distribution. I think tighter editing could make the difference for this unique film.
