Marvel movies or comic book/superhero films intrigue fans more because of the end-credit scenes. MCU movies sometimes have two scenes at the end of their films—one mid-credit and one post-credit. The upcoming movie will feature The Crown star Emma Corrin in a significant role.

Earlier this week, we wondered if Deadpool & Wolverine would be the savior of the MCU. If the Fandango advance ticket sales are anything to go by, Wade may be the franchise’s Jesus!
Ticket pre-sales started on May 20. According to JoBlo, Deadpool & Wolverine is extremely popular. So many people bought advanced tickets that the upcoming sequel broke the record for first-day ticket sales … in 2024.
Ok, so there’s a bit of a concession we have to make. The record is only for this year, and the cinemas haven’t exactly seen many huge releases recently.
Regardless, this is excellent news compared to the past few Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Per the EVP of Fandango Ticketing, Jerramy Hainline, “Deadpool and Wolverine are proving to be the dynamic duo, smashing records before appearing on the big screen. The film’s ticket pre-sales success is a testament to the strong appeal and...

One of the most anticipated upcoming MCU releases is undoubtedly ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ This movie signifies several significant milestones: it marks Deadpool’s first appearance in the MCU and is the only MCU film slated for release in 2024. This strategic move aims to restore some of the faith lost by fans due to several poorly received movies in recent years.
The film is already creating excitement by selling tickets well in advance of its release, breaking traditional blockbuster norms. As part of the ticket marketing campaign, new footage unveils a hidden Qr code in the trailer, leading viewers to a humorous disclaimer from Reynolds about the film.
We’re very excited to be joining you July 26. Many of you are very excited. But we should set the table correctly. This film is as paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless,...

One of the biggest upcoming MCU releases is most certainly ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The movie marks several big things. It’s Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU and also the only MCU movie to be released in 2024, in the hopes of restoring at least some of the faith that the fans of the franchise lost in the last several years due to a string of several poorly received movies.
The movie is generating buzz by selling tickets well ahead of its release, defying typical blockbuster conventions. As a part of the marketing campaign related to tickets, new footage reveals a hidden Qr code in the trailer, leading to a humorous disclaimer from Reynolds about the film.

Phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a real crisis for Kevin Feige and co. The Marvel Studios head has been forced back to the drawing board in the wake of audiences realizing, en masse, that there's been far too much of the MCU and it's getting ridiculous. Since then, Disney and Marvel Studios have seemingly taken their declining box office returns and the general superhero malaise that has settled among audiences seriously. The biggest and most promising sign of an actual course-correction taking place was the announcement that we'll be getting far fewer MCU movies in the future, with only a single movie in the shared universe releasing in 2024.
That movie is, of course, "Deadpool & Wolverine," the first Deadpool movie from Marvel Studios and a potential "Spider-Man: No Way Home"-level event. Not only will this film bring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine out of retirement, but...

Deadpool And Wolverine Bond Over A Beer In New Advert; Ryan Reynolds Shares Disclaimer For The Movie
Following yesterday's latest teaser for Deadpool and Wolverine, we have a new advert for Heineken Silver, which sees Wade Wilson and Logan take a break from beating the crap out of each other to enjoy a beer together.
The clip begins with Wolverine preparing to pop his claws, when the Merc With a Mouth reveals that he "borrowed" some of the mutant's adamantium in order to "create something special."
This footage won't be in the actual movie (unless it's even more meta than we realized), but we wouldn't be at all surprised if there's some blatant product placement in there!
In addition, Ryan Reynolds has released a very funny disclaimer for the upcoming movie in an effort to keep our expectations in check.

Yesterday, Marvel announced that advanced ticket sales had started for Deadpool & Wolverine. With that came a short new clip for the movie. Hidden within said footage was supposedly a Qr code that took you to Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube channel.
The 38-second video from the film’s star was, in fact, a disclaimer regarding the content of the new Disney movie. Reynolds holds no punches regarding what you should expect from Deadpool & Wolverine.
In case the video goes dark, we’ve put a transcript of the “disclaimer” below.

Calls are growing for the 1994 film to be freed from YouTube hell – but is it there because evil Hollywood execs tried to kill it, or is it just a really bad film?
Why exactly are we so fascinated with bad movies? Perhaps it is simple schadenfreude, the delicious mental backwards engineering required to work out just exactly how somebody somewhere decided that the John Travolta-led, Scientology-infused Battlefield Earth, or Ed Wood’s frightful Glen or Glenda were anything approaching a good idea. It cannot be that we actually want to watch these things, for where is the thrill in experiencing completely inept film-making unless it really is about taking pleasure in other people’s creative failure?
The situation becomes even more preposterous when we consider those movies that have always been so terrible that nobody should ever be able to witness them on the big or small screen. Jerry Lewis...

While Sylvester Stallone’s latest sequel Expend4bles may have been a letdown for the Italian Stallion, Awfully Good Movies is putting on a headband and spandex for John Travolta in the 1983 Stallone-directed sequel to 1977’s Saturday Night Fever: Staying Alive!
After Stallone and Travolta both shot to stardom in the 70s with their respective Oscar-nominated roles of Philly boxer Rocky Balboa and Brooklyn dancer Tony Manero, the two decided to combine their underdog powers for a Saturday Night Fever sequel where Tony trades in the disco floor for the Broadway stage, with Stallone rewriting and directing in the wake of Rocky III’s phenomenal success and providing a “sly” cameo as himself. And while the follow-up would end up as one of the year’s biggest moneymakers, audiences and critics deemed it to be a campy downgrade from the gritty predecessor, as Tony’s Broadway breakout is threatened by...

Filmmaking is a collaborative process. Having an original idea is a phenomenal start, but directors need the financial backing of a studio to bring it to life. If that's not all, to get the best results, filmmakers must also choose talent with strong on-screen chemistry or, at the very least, ensure they get along.
The unpredictable nature of life causes things to go awry sometimes. Filmmaking is a business, and one major blunder can be a career-ender. A project can run out of money halfway through shooting because of poor budgeting. Maybe a flick's stars completely misunderstood their roles. Worse yet, audiences may not comprehend a director's vision upon a movie's release.
"A director must be a policeman, a midwife, a psychoanalyst, a sycophant, and a bastard," director Billy Wilder once wisely declared. Perhaps "clairvoyant" should be added to that list, as there's no chance that some of the following fiascos could have been predicted.

1997’s Face/Off found John Travolta at the height of his first career resurgence, which began with 1994’s Pulp Fiction (and ended with 2000’s unfortunate Battlefield Earth). Face/Off, from acclaimed action director John Woo, found Travolta and Nicolas Cage starring in a deliciously twisted story of stolen identities. With Travolta and Cage essentially playing each other’s character for a good part of the film, there were plenty of opportunities for them to have fun with their scenes … and they did. Speaking about the film a few years ago, Travolta talked about the Face/Off scenes he enjoyed the most. The tonal diversity within the science fiction genre is what has allowed it to stand the test of time. The term "sci-fi" is a broad one. You may first think of space adventures like the "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Alien," or "Battlestar Galactica" franchises. However, there's also a subsection of sci-fi movies that are slower and more romantic such as "Her," "About Time," and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." You can find sci-fi fantasy films, sci-fi Westerns, sci-fi comedies, and even sci-fi musicals.
The genre itself encourages experimentation, particularly from actors who choose to add their own perspectives to a film. Not every sci-fi film has to be as grim and emotional as "Interstellar" or "2001: A Space Odyssey." It's always admirable when an actor in a science fiction film truly commits to the absurdity of the material.
Even if they're afraid that they might look silly, these actors...

Since 1980, UCLA film grads and industry veterans John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy have honored the very worst in cinema with the Razzie Awards. Here’s a look back to the worst pictures of the last four decades.

Much loved and presumably still embarrassing for a lot of folks, the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special is famous for its strange creative decisions, Bea Arthur, Lumpy and much more. Despite its reputation, though, it’s actually led to a lot of surprising Star Wars tie-ins and in-jokes, with a reference to Life Day even making its way into the first episode of The Mandalorian.
For those unfamiliar, the Star Wars Holiday Special was produced to fill the gap between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, airing on November 17th, 1978 on CBS. To say the least, it turned out to be a hot mess and probably something that Lucasfilm wishes had never happened. But happen it did and for better or for worse, everyone still remembers it.
As bad as it was, though, it apparently wasn’t on the same level as last night’s presidential debate. Or so says Mark Hamill,...

October is here and you know what that means: time for the streaming services to put their spookiest foot forward. Amazon is doing its part for its new releases in October 2020 by rolling out some horror originals and library titles.
This is the month that the much-hyped Blumhouse horror anthology series Welcome to the Blumhouse arrives. “Episodes” of that, Black Box and The Lie launch on Oct. 6 and Evil Eye and Nocturne arrive on Oct. 13. Another horror-adjacent release of note is Truth Seekers, a comedy-horror series from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.
That’s about it for notable originals. Thankfully October 1 brings the usual burst of fascinating library movie titles. A Knights Tale, Spaceballs, and The Departed all debut on the first of the month. Terminator: Dark Fate arrives on Oct. 9. The superb final season of Mr. Robot will be available on Oct. 6. Start playing Pixies “Where is My Mind?...

We’re now less than five weeks away from Halloween, and with the celebrations having kicked off on the first day of September for many people, even more will be starting to put the decorations up without having to worry about facing judgement from the very same folks that put a Christmas tree up around the same time of year and don’t bat an eyelid.
Unsurprisingly, all of the major streaming services are preparing to deliver a ton of horror content throughout October, knowing full well that frights are at the top of the agenda for many subscribers. The continued effects of the Coronavirus pandemic may have robbed audiences of the chance to be communally terrified as big hitters like Halloween Kills and the Candyman reboot have fled to next year, but there’s still no shortage of options to be found on the small screen for those desperate...

As we head into the last week of September, let’s look ahead at what’s coming to Amazon Prime in October. It’s the usual mix of great newly-licensed titles arriving at the top of the month and a range of original movies and TV shows dropping throughout the upcoming weeks. But, what with it being spooky season, this time Prime’s October haul is specifically geared towards giving you some scares during Halloween.
For starters, horror fans will not want to miss the launch of Blumhouse’s “Welcome to the Blumhouse” series with four original films going up across October. The first duo, Black Box and The Lie, land on Prime on October 6th. Then, a week later on the 13th, both Evil Eye and Nocturne debut. Anything with Blumhouse behind it is usually worth checking out, so make sure not to miss those.

Every few years, David Ayer reminds us that Michael Bay isn’t the only director blowing stuff up for no reason. Bright, Sabotage and Street Kings are examples of what Bayhem would look like if it were rated R and his latest film, The Tax Collector, is no exception.
The Tax Collector begins in a very expected way for this sort of thing. After breakfast with his wife and kids, David (Bobby Soto) teams up with his partner in crime, Creeper (Shia Labeouf). Their job is to collect payments from dozens of street gangs for a protection racket run by Wizard, who’s seen with his back toward the camera in a prison cell. Before you can wonder just who the heck this guy is, bodies start piling up in Los Angeles, where the head of the Mexican Cartel, Conejo (Jose Conejo Martin), is savagely, furiously and ceaselessly taking over Wizard’s business.

John Travolta has been a repeat offender at the Razzies, earning 14 nominations over the course of his career, including Worst Actor of the Decade for both the 1980s and 2000s. But mercifully the only times he won were his nominations for 2000’s “Battlefield Earth.” However, we think he’ll be back in the winner’s circle — if you can call it that — this year for both “The Fanatic” and “Trading Paint.” He’s the odds-on favorite for Worst Actor based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users.
The L. Ron Hubbard-based sci-fi film “Battlefield Earth” was a notorious critical and commercial flop — its MetaCritic score was 9 out of 100, and it’s one of the 15 lowest rated films on IMDb. It won all seven Razzie categories it was nominated in, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor and Worst Screen Combo for Travolta. Travolta’s acting prize was actually awarded to...

It seems that not a lot of people have actually gone out of their way to go and see Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle, based on the fact that the would-be blockbuster has still failed to crack $100 million at the global box office after more than two weeks in theaters. That being said, plenty of folks have nonetheless heard the countless tales of disaster surrounding Rdj’s first post-mcu outing, including the extensive and costly reshoots that drove the budget up to $175 million in an ultimately failed attempt to try and salvage the movie, which is already poised to go down as the biggest dud of 2020.
Dolittle looks like it’ll find its way into Hollywood folklore as one of those fascinatingly misguided, vanity-driven failures alongside the likes of Battlefield Earth and Cats, with the behind-the-scenes turmoil enduring for much longer than anything that actually happened onscreen. Did Tom Holland just drop another massive spoiler? When will that cheeky little bugger ever learn? This time, it might not be Avengers-related, but the Spider-Man star has now hinted that a television show featuring the beloved hero might be on the way.
In GQ’s latest installment in their web series Actually Me, Holland browsed the internet and answered some fan questions. From YouTube to Instagram, he responded to inquiries and cleared up false rumors. He also dropped what could be either really big hints or the start of even more rumors as at one point, a fan exclaimed that they hope one day Holland will have his own TV show. His response?
“Well, you might not have to wait that long.”
Why the internet isn’t on fire right now, I’m not sure. Assuming he wasn’t just yanking our collective chains, this raises quite a few questions.

One of the most surprising things about director Roger Christian’s 1982 chiller The Sender, which screams America from almost every fibre, is that it’s British made. With a cast and crew of varied nationality and narratively set in America – location work took place in Georgia – all the studio work for the Paramount Pictures production was actually shot on stages at Shepperton in the UK.
British born Christian himself was a former Academy Award winning art director on the first Star Wars (and a nominee in the same category for Alien). On the other end of the ‘accomplishments to be proud of’ scale, however, he’s the man responsible for the woeful Battlefield Earth, so it’s fair to say his cinematic career was mixed. The Sender, his debut in the director’s chair, resides on the upper end of that scale.

Jim Jarmusch’s recent preoccupation with life at the end of the world (and the cultural decay that comes with it) arrives at an amusingly literal conclusion in “The Dead Don’t Die,” a sluggish but knowing zombie comedy that rearranges the bones of “The Night of the Living Dead” into a resigned lament for a society on the brink of collapse. And while exhuming George Romero’s metaphor-heavy corpus might seem like too obvious a choice in our current age of smart phones and stupid presidents, this (un)deadpan apocalypse makes that obviousness the point.
We all know — to quote a line from the film — that “Nothing is happening normally right now,” but it’s hard not to be paralyzed by the absurdity of it all. If Jarmusch’s latest often feels as though it lacks a pulse, this star-studded parable is held together by one consistent truth: When Hell is full,...

The 2019 Golden Raspberry Awards were announced right before the stroke of midnight on Friday night, February 22. These 39th annual awards, “honoring” the worst achievements in film, were decided by more than 1,000 eligible voting members across all 50 states and two dozen foreign countries, while the Razzie Redeemer Award was chosen by registered users right here at Gold Derby. So who were the big winners — or losers, if you will? Watch the complete Razzies announcement video above, and scroll down to see the complete list of nominees and winners below.

The comic take on Arthur Conan Doyle‘s “Sherlock Holmes” stories scored a lowly 24 on MetaCritic, so it’s not too surprising that it was the Razzies...

If their dismal reviews wasn’t punishment enough, for the 39th year, the Razzie Awards seek to recognize the achievements of the worst movies of the year. And for 2019’s crop of nominees, John Travolta’s “Gotti” and Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s “Holmes & Watson” both received the “honor” of being nominated for Worst Picture of 2018.
Melissa McCarthy might be nominated for an Oscar on Tuesday morning, but on Monday morning, she scored a nomination for Worst Actress for both “The Happytime Murders” and “Life of the Party,” and the former also landed among the five Worst Picture nominees. The box office bomb “Robin Hood” and Helen Mirren’s “Winchester” rounded out the nominees.
Even the first family found a way into the nominees, with Donald Trump and Melania Trump both getting nominated for portraying themselves in the documentary “Fahrenheit 11/9” from Michael Moore. And unlike the Oscars,...
