Sex & Nudity

- No sex or nudity. Very few women in the movie (except as extras/townswomen). One reference to a man who was having an affair, but the language is "genteel." No swear words were used to describe the affair.
Violence & Gore

- There are violent battle scenes where bayonets/weapons are plunged into people, guns are fired, blood is shown. The scenes are very realistic and show war as it was fought back then.
Profanity

- Words like "Damn", "Goddamn", "Hell", "Ass", "Bastard" and one use of "Shit" is used in the film.
- Several instances of profanity, crude words for body parts, and "God" and/or "Jesus Christ" a few times. None of the words are used in a sexual context--they are all used among men and usually in the context of anger, war discussions and situations like that.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Men are shown drinking on occasion. They are not drunk nor is there any scene with drunkeness. There might be some pipe smoking, as was the occasion back in those times.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- If children or adults are frightened by war violence, this movie does contain authentically recreated war scenes from that period of time. There is graphic, bloody, realistic depiction of hand-to-hand combat. It is not pervasive throughout the movie, but is an integral part of it.
- This film does not have a rating but it would be close to PG but on the low end of PG-13 simply due to the depictions of war.
