This TV programme was shown on cITV a few years ago now, in the UK. Although I'm way too old for kids TV, and don't usually watch it, being a big fan of Elizabeth Arnold's Freya Trilogy (which the series is based on) I decided to watch the programmes. And I'm glad I did! It was a fantastic programme, and definitely not just for kids.
All it is about is a Romany gypsy called Freya Boswell who uses her gypsy magick to help others in need. Elizabeth's books The Parcley Parcel and Gold And Silver Water were done beautifully. A Riot Of Red Ribbon was not made, but that does not matter, as all the other episodes make up for it. It includes a lot of stories which aren't in Elizabeth's books, but they are just as good.
I was disappointed to find out that ITV have no plans to repeat the series, so I have written to Granada and asked them to release it on DVD. I hope they do, I'd love to see this again!
