Obscure, and maybe for good reason

DOUBLE EXPOSURE is an obscure British thriller of 1977, made on a tiny budget by an unknown director and featuring none other than Anouska Hempel, formerly of THE SCARS OF DRACULA and BLACK SNAKE fame. She plays a beautiful model drawn into a kidnap plot when she begins an affair with sleazy photographer David Baron. What plays out is almost entirely by rote, and it's worth noting that the bad guys have much more of a screen presence than the somewhat insipid leads. The opening sequence, in which an old man is slashed and shot in front of his dog, is grubby stuff indeed, and this film has something of a sleazy Pete Walker feel to it at times. However, it's also padded and a bit boring, so it's not something to go out of your way to watch.
