Great example of Brazilian short film
Emerenciano8 February 2005
Making a short film is more difficult than people may imagine. Just because the film isn't long doesn't mean it's cheap and easy to do. Making a short film is telling a whole story in less than thirty minutes, what is not a simple job. "A Canga" (go find the making of - it's great) is beautifully done and it has techniques found in some of the best long American movie pictures. The movie is based on a short story written by W.J. Solha, that was casted by director Marcos Vilar to play one of the protagonists. And Solha did a really good job as the rude and strict father who commands the family under his iron fist.
