Will Dana Delany present a strong enough body of proof when she locks horns with Bull?
TVLine has learned exclusively that the two-time Emmy winner will guest-star in the CBS drama’s Tuesday, March 27 episode as an Ausa (Assistant United States Attorney) whose proves to be a “hard-bitten” opponent for Dr. Jason Bull (played by Michael Weatherly).

There is no such thing as maximum idea capacity at Shondaland; there is no such thing as maximum Shondaland capacity at ABC. The network, according to reports, has nabbed yet another Rhimes-produced series. Not to mention it's a medical drama. This one, however, will be an army-centric exploration of an American medevac team's base camp in Baghdad during the Iraq War. (Yes, it might end up bearing similarities to Grey's Anatomy, but no, ultimately, it won't be a spin-off.) Grey's veteran Zoanne Clack will serve as scribe and Ep for the project (untitled at the moment), while Rhimes and Betsy Beers will help produce. Clack, who has been with Shondaland since its beginning, has a notable past as someone who has trained and worked in international emergency medicine — something that has already made her an asset on such series as Grey's and Presidio Med. The show joins a slew of...

Even with a midseason return and a shorter run this time, Dana Delany is happy her latest series still has life.
It actually can be considered a new life, since the ABC medical mystery "Body of Proof" will reflect significant changes as its third season starts Tuesday, Feb. 19. Delany's Dr. Megan Hunt will be without several colleagues who were present from the show's start: Peter Dunlop (Nicholas Bishop), her investigator, who was stabbed by an enemy of Megan's in the Season 2 finale, and homicide detectives Bud Morris and Samantha Baker (John Carroll Lynch, Sonja Sohn).
Police work will remain a factor in "Body of Proof," though ... a bigger factor, in fact, given the main cast addition. Mark Valley ("Human Target," "Boston Legal") worked previously with Delany on the short-lived Fox serial "Pasadena," and their reunion makes him Tommy Sullivan, an investigator with whom Megan has a personal past -- a...

Sasha Alexander is playing a TV-series medical examiner, and so is Dana Delany, but the actresses are much more allies than rivals.
"NCIS" alum Alexander starts her second round of the TNT crime drama "Rizzoli & Isles" Monday, July 11, and Delany's ABC show "Body of Proof" begins Season 2 this fall. "Dana is a dear friend, I love her, and I'm thrilled for her success," Alexander tells Zap2it. "We both laugh because we did a CBS show together years ago called 'Presidio Med' and now, we're like, 'Are you wearing my clothes on your show? What's happening?'"
Alexander stresses, though, that her Dr. Maura Isles and Delany's Dr. Megan Hunt are "very different women. They do the same job, but they're totally different characters. I said to Angie (Harmon, the Rizzoli to Alexander's Isles), 'I think the success of our show last year really opened up this window for female-driven shows.

For Sasha Alexander, film affords more opportunities for acting risks than episodic TV. The former provides a single dose of a self-contained universe, whereas with recurring roles on the small screen, one "has to create a three-dimensional character that audiences are going to want to watch each week. You don't have a beginning, middle, and end. You may have some basic idea where the character is going and you may not." Backstories emerge sporadically, if at all, she adds: "You're leaving little crumbs for the audience. It can be frustrating." Alexander knows something about episodic TV, having appeared on "NCIS," "Dawson's Creek," and "Presidio Med." She is currently tackling medical examiner Maura Isles on "Rizzoli & Isles," a new TNT police drama based on the novels of Tess Gerritsen and co-starring Angie Harmon as blue-collar detective Jane Rizzoli. By contrast, Isles has a wealthy family and a posh education. "I like...

Paul Blackthorne has inked a talent holding deal with ABC and Touchstone TV to star in a pilot targeted for fall. Additionally, the British actor has booked recurring roles on NBC's ER and Fox's 24. On ER, Blackthorne will play a surgeon. The role reunites the actor with John Wells, the venerable medical drama's executive producer. On 24, Blackthorne is set to play a former British special agent. On the big screen, Blackthorne starred in the Indian music tale Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, which was nominated for a foreign-language Oscar in 2002. He is repped by Ro Diamond and Susie Schwarz of SDB Partners and Seven Summits Pictures & Management.

The series, from Paramount Network Television, is slated to air in JAG's Tuesday 8 p.m. slot and extends the actress' relationship with CBS. This spring, she starred in the network's drama pilot Expert Witness. She also co-starred on CBS' medical drama Presidio Med this past season. Actress Dana Delany has paid tribute to her pal and Presidio Med co-star Blythe Danner for her bravery following her husband's death in Italy. Danner was filming the TV medical drama when she heard about the death of her director husband Bruce Paltrow last week and flew off to Rome to be with her family. Delany was dining with Danner when the actress received the call telling the terrible news. The actress recalls, "I was at her house the day that Bruce died and she was remarkable. She was funny and worried more about her guests than herself. She's a remarkable woman and she wants to get back to work because she's a trooper." Danner joined her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow, son Jake and close family and friends at a memorial service for her late husband last weekend, and has been granted a leave of absence from Presidio Med. Meanwhile, Gwyneth has pulled out of next week's VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, where she was scheduled to present a prize.
