Cognitive Dissonance
gumplord5 January 2005
I happened to come across this short film on AtomFilms by chance, and I must say that I'm not sorry I did. This movie is so revolting in concept that it in no way can be taken seriously-- a true dark comedy. However, it is most certainly not for the faint of heart or those easily offended. I found myself wondering what this little boy's real-life parents had to say about his participation in this project. I found myself wondering what this little boy had to say about his own participation in this project. Indeed, those might be intriguing discussions to have. I found myself shocked and outraged, yet applauding. I really don't know what else to say about the film, as I've never seen anything like it. In me, it achieved cognitive dissonance at its best, which is a good thing. To anyone anywhere who might have the capacity to put this out on DVD in some fashion: Please do!! 9/10.

Timmy's Wish is one irreverent short comedy
tavm27 December 2008
Just watched this pretty blasphemous but also funny short on atomfilms.com. In a nutshell, Timmy, after getting sent to his room for not finishing his dinner because it has Brussel sprouts and liver, prays to Jesus that he wishes his parents were dead. Guess what happens? The Jesus character is played by the director as someone with an attitude who swears and smokes and lets the boy partake in some vices. That is until he sees...Oh, just watch this short and judge for yourself if you get offended at what is depicted here. As a Catholic, I wondered why the son of God acted the way he did but then I decided this was one of those be-careful-what-you-wish-for suspense parodies that was meant to be taken with a grain of salt. So on that note, I'm cautiously recommending Timmy's Wish.

I'll probably go to hell for this, but: I loved this movie!

The concept is hilarious: little Timmy prays to Jesus to kill his mommy and daddy, which Jesus has no problem with ---- so long as little Timmy helps Him dispose of the bodies. The execution is impeccable; I especially love the scene with Jesus smoking a cigarette as he hacks up the bodies into more disposable pieces. An absolutely great short film; I hope I get a chance to see it again someday, as it was the best short I saw at Tromadance Film Festival 2002.

Outstanding

I just caught this at the Florida Film Festival last night, and it was certainly one of the highlights of the shorts program I saw. When little Timmy's parents send him to bed without dinner, he prays to Jesus to rid him of them. Screaming is then heard from the kitchen. You put it together. Jesus was absolutely hysterical ("You've earned it!") and the way it was shot made it even funnier. It looked like "Beaver" Cleaver's house. If you ever manage to see this short, check it out, and if you ever find a way to get it on video or DVD, let me know. Highly recommended.

Too funny

I saw this short at the Johns Hopkins Film Fest in Baltimore. I couldnt stop laughing at some of the stuff that went on. The way Jesus was talking and "shooting the biblical sh*t" with Timmy was key. If you ever get a chance to see this, it would be the best 10-15 minutes you've ever spent. Believe me.
