Documentary based on veterans' interviews
jsunbury-128 June 2003
This documentary,a co-production of ABC News and The Learning Channel, comprises six sections: the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley, a large-scale ambush by North Vietnamese regulars in 1965; the siege of Khe Sanh; the Tet Offensive; the "Secret War" in Cambodia and Laos; the air war; and the fall of Saigon.Narrated by Jack Smith, himself a decorated combat veteran(Ia Drang), son of veteran newsman, Howard K.Smith. Nothing can be more authentic than the voices of the men who fought it. Accompanied by graphic video footage. Companion book by Ron Steinman.

Excellent footage
hitekrednex25 July 2006
I am a Combat Veteran of Vietnam and I know first hand about war and its nasty leftovers. After the VFW sent me this movie it brought back a lot of bad memories. But I always figure there is someone somewhere that has worse memories.I learned long ago about a nation that mistreats its soldiers

But it does no good to dwell on it. People of all generations have dealt with these problems. I only wish and hope there are no future generations that have to endure the ridicule we Vietnam Vets did.I highly recommend this footage to any one who is interested in the real thing.

Vietnam Soldier's Story: Women at War
maldelus31 January 2009
As one who is collecting the Veterans of Foreign Wars "Service with Honor DVD Collection," I learned today, 1-31-2009, that "Women At War" was part of the "Vietnam Soldier's Story" hosted by Jack Smith. I was in the military during this time, but never in Vietnam. I have always been interested in the operating area's history and concerns. I have "Last Chopper Out", "Under Siege At Khe Sanh", "Stories From The Wall", "Invisible Enemy", "Ambush: The Battle At Ia Drang", "War In The Skies", Tet: The Battle For Hearts And Minds", "From The River To The Sea" and "Secret War, Secret Men" to date. From what I can gather, there are more than six segments that are part of this ABC News Production for The Learning Channel. They all rate a "10" from me as they are all one of a kind.
