If landing a gig on one of TV's biggest music shows wasn't enough for Nick Grimshaw - along with his daily Radio 1 Breakfast Show - he's also managed to squeeze in time to record a series of special interviews with some of music's biggest stars.
Grimmy is the new face of Relentless Ultra Presents Soundchain - a show that focuses on a single act each episode, showing exclusive performances and delving into their musical journey and inspirations.
Congratulations on your exciting new jobs. How are you feeling about the massive X Factor role?
"I think I'm most excited about all the fun that comes with it. When I worked on T4, I loved the fact it was a huge crew and a huge family. We were there week in week out and you got to know everybody. I feel like it's going to be like that. I can't wait for that element.

You don’t see Arnold Schwarzenegger’s butt in Terminator Genisys. That’s probably not the detail you were most concerned with regarding the fifth installment of the “Terminator” franchise (though those after some cinematic man meat won’t have to look far), but it’s a representative one. There are, in fact, many moments one can choose from in Genisys that provide a diagnostic sampling of what’s wrong with it. Like Skynet, and now Jurassic Park, the series has become terminally self-aware, as only a brand this old can. Unfortunately, this rusted ’80s artifact still refuses to self-terminate, and thanks to Genisys, we now live in a nightmarish new world where Terminator Salvation might not be the franchise’s bottom.
But back to the butt. Terminator Genisys is more of a reimagining of established lore than a proper new entry in James Cameron’s once-technologically groundbreaking series. It...

Grimshaw's meteoric rise continues, as he was confirmed earlier this week as a new judge on arguably TV's biggest show, The X Factor.
But who exactly is the floppy-haired fellow, and how did he become such an omnipresent household name? Below we chart the rise and rise (and rise) of Nick Grimshaw.

Tool Academy will not be returning.
The E4 show, presented by Rick Edwards, saw wayward boyfriends be brought up to scratch by their long-suffering girlfriends, and ran for three series.
In an interview with Heat magazine, Edwards said it was a "shame" the programme would not be coming back.
"I find myself getting asking the same things quite a lot in my day-to-day life," he explained. "These are, 'Is Tool Academy coming back?' No, it isn't, shame."
Edwards added that he also gets asked if he is friends with the cast of Made in Chelsea - for which he presents the spin-off End of Season Party - and that people will just shout 'T4' at him.

"Occasionally, when I've had too much wine and I'm with Simon, I'll say, 'Let's look at Popworld'."
There are two types of pop music show. Ones that came before Popworld, and ones that came after Popworld.
Simon Amstell and Miquita Oliver's early '00s pop chat and magazine show made it worth getting up in the morning for millions of teenagers and university students between 2001 and 2006 (let's ignore the Alex Zane years).
Previously, popstars had been used to inane phone-ins and cheery hysteria on Saturday morning kids TV. Simon and Miquita went for a different tact - taking the piss.
We caught up with Miquita to look back at the show's glory years.
How many times a week do you get people asking about Popworld?
Weekly? I'd probably say 60 times a day. But I love it, I'm fine with it. It's one of the best things I've ever done.

Dermot O'Leary didn't have many girlfriends growing up. 'The X Factor' host says that rather than spending his teenage years trying to charm girls, he was more interested in watching football and ''having fun''. Dermot, 41, told The Sun newspaper: ''Mates of mine who had girlfriends when I was growing up always seemed to be going to their parents or grandparents for dinner. ''That sort of thing terrified me.'' The presenter, who first rose to prominence on Channel 4 show T4, admits the lack of attention he received from girls in his younger days has impacted his emotional wellbeing. He explained: ''I didn't grow up...

Dermot O'Leary has said that signing on to the dole left him feeling embarrassed.
In his new autobiography Dermot O'Leary: The Soundtrack To My Life, the presenter recalled how his TV career got off to a slow start in the late '90s, as he struggled to find work.
"I was by now broke and whilst I've never shied away from hard graft, I was forced to go on the dole for a few weeks as I looked for relevant work," O'Leary reveals in the book.
"For me it was the most degrading, embarrassing, introspective, self-doubting time of my life. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but for the impact it had on me, I wouldn't change a minute of it."
He added: "I told no-one about it. It was the shame I felt going to sign on every two weeks and the look of resignation on the faces around me.

Last weekend may have signaled a new Dawn for the Planet of the Apes franchise, as its latest film exceeded studio and analyst expectations with a $72.6 million debut. But Caesar and the gang face some formidable cross-genre competition this weekend, when Sex Tape, The Purge: Anarchy, and Planes: Fire & Rescue all hit theaters in wide release. With a steep drop-off expected for Apes and a lack of decent horror, family, and raunchy comedy fare on the market, all are tracking pretty similarly, making this summer weekend a rare box office wild card.

Optimus Prime is back in full force.
Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction (A- Cinema Score) earned an estimated $100 million across the weekend, making it the top debut of the year. It’s also a career high for star Mark Wahlberg, who leads a new cast in telling the story of what happened five years after Chicago was nearly destroyed in the last film.
Paramount’s $200 million film may not have charmed the critics, but audiences didn’t seem to take that, or the daunting run time, into account this weekend. Moviegoers were predominately male, accounting for 64 percent of audiences.

Andi Peters has laughed off Noel Edmonds's recent claims that he would like to buy the BBC.
Edmonds recently suggested that he has assembled a consortium of financial backers who are interested in taking over the corporation, though he was later heavily questioned by Jeremy Paxman in a strange encounter on Newsnight and Radio 1 DJ Greg James branded the possibility "ludicrous".

Richard Ayoade shot to fame as Moss in The It Crowd but it was Submarine, his debut behind the camera, that won him critical acclaim. As his new film, The Double, is released, he talks about pride, performing and giving up his pop dreams
The premise of Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1846 novella The Double is simple but ingenious: a man lives an entirely unremarkable existence until one day his exact doppelganger shows up. This incongruous situation fast becomes insufferable for two reasons: first, the new guy is slick where he is stammering, popular where he's forgettable, Day-Glo to his beige; and, second, because no one else notices any likeness at all between the pair of them.
The Double, it's said, is meant as an allegory: the straight man is Dostoevsky in real life, shy and often awkward; the arriviste is the author 2.0, the person he sometimes wished he was, who is quick-witted and irresistible to women.

It looks fairly certain that the most unlikely of TV success stories - Olly Murs and Caroline Flack's Xtra Factor stint - is going to come to an end in 2013.
Murs's music career continues to soar (who'd have thought it!) and he's probably not going to have time this autumn to hashtag his bulge and get saucy with the Flackster and cheeky with Louis Walsh every Saturday night.
So who could possibly step into Olly's boots and team up with Caroline Flack this year? Reality Bites looks at a list of potential replacements:

Vernon Kay has said that Simon Cowell would be wrong to replace Steve Jones on X Factor USA. Jones has faced criticism for his role hosting the American version of the singing competition. However, defending his former colleague's work, Kay said that Jones was "not going to leave" the show. "He's doing a great job. I know Steve well enough from T4 to know he's so dedicated," the Family Fortunes host told New magazine. "And he's doing everything in his power to do a good job. If they were to replace him, they would be very foolish." Discussing "stupid" criticism of his accent, which he received when hosting ABC's Skating with the Stars (more)...

Jameela Jamil is "absolutely terrified" of hosting this year's T4's Stars of 2011. The TV presenter - who is fronting the live music event at Earl's Court on December 11 alongside fellow 'T4' hosts Nick Grimshaw, Matt Edmondson, Georgie Okell and Will Best - is scared of falling over during the show, but she is not going to tone down her footwear choice. Jameela joked: "We didn't do the main stage last year and I'm absolutely terrified, I'll be wearing a nappy. "Any number of things could go wrong, you could die or just forget your lines. My prediction for the fall 2011 season: record-breaking heat, with a 100% chance of sexy. Well, on TV anyway. See, even as the weather begins to cool down, the small screen will be heating up as a mixture of hotties both established and up-and-coming will grace our TV sets in the quickly-approaching crop of fall shows.
From fairytale princes and teenage witches to supernatural hunters and ‘60s playboys, this fall season offers up a titillating assortment of hunky new characters – all of them brought to life by a group of fetching performers who will no doubt have us drooling at our TV screens come September. Below I’ve compiled a list of 12 to get your tongues wagging.
Note: The 2011 fall season is also lamentably short on performers of color, which is sadly reflected in the following list. Nevertheless, while only three of the twelve actors I highlight below belong to a racial minority,...

Steve Jones has denied reports that Cheryl Cole was fired from the X Factor USA because of her thick Geordie accent.
The Welsh TV host will front the new series of the TV talent show and speaking about the announcement that was made in May, revealing that the former Girls Aloud star was being replaced on the judging panel by his supposed co-host Nicole Scherzinger, Jones claimed that he was disappointed by the news.
The hunky star told The Sun that the decision was definitely not made because of Cheryl’s dialect, saying:
“I spoke to her and said I was disappointed I wasn’t going to spend a lot more time with her because she’s a cool girl. The powers that be know exactly what happened. I’m my own little island backstage.
“But the only thing I will say is it was nothing to do with the accent.

Ex-T4 presenter Rick Edwards has been cast in a Comedy Labs satire about the world of TV presenting. Rick and Peter will star Edwards and Peter Mitchell (Hollyoaks, Cast Offs) as exaggerated forms of themselves. The half-hour one-off is based around Edwards's character being given a crash course in political correctness after making a gaff on T4. Written by Tom Basden (The Party), the show has been greenlit by Channel 4 comedy commissioning editor Nerys Evans. Other Comedy Labs specials airing this year include Kabadasses, (more)...

Channel 5 are reportedly considering T4 host Alice Levine as the presenter of their new Big Brother series.
Many assumed that show bosses would choose someone who had previously been affiliated with the reality TV series – such as Josie Gibson or Emma Willis – to front the new run. However, insiders say that producers have been impressed by Levine’s presenting style and The Daily Star reports that the bubbly red head has said that she “would not shy away” from giving the celebrity housemates an in depth questioning.
She is reported to have said:
“My dream interviewee would be someone starry like a big Hollywood name. But I’d be really star-struck by someone I admire, like Steve Coogan or Ricky Gervais.”
Channel 5 bigwigs are said to be sure Levine would be a big hit with loyal Bb fans.
Alice currently fronts “Pop Up Pop Quiz” for T4 and “Celebrity Bites” on MTV.

Dermot O’Leary said he counted himself out of getting the Us X Factor presenting job, when he agreed to host the UK version earler this year.
The 38 year old star lost out on the job to Welsh presenter Steve Jones but told Radio Five Live that the loss was his own fault. He said:
“I wanted to do it, but the UK one comes round first and I wasn’t going to turn down what I consider to be my job and the job I love.
“The minute I took the UK one I sort of knew I had counted myself out.”
However T4 presenter Rick Edwards isn’t so convinced and he thinks his old pal Dermot was actually treated very badly, by Simon Cowell and his cronies.

We're all nobody until somebody notices us, right? That's probably what Simon Cowell is hoping with the choice of Steve Jones as the co-host of the American version of his reality singing competition, "The X Factor."
Yes, the former model is well-known to British audiences thanks to appearances on a number of popular shows, including the children's variety program "T4," the "Guinness World Records Smashed!" special as well as upcoming series “Drop Zone,” “Wedding Crashers” and “101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow.”
But in America? He's as blank a slate as a guy named Ryan Seacrest was before "American Idol" launched in 2002. It's hard to remember now, but back then Seacrest was just a radio guy in Los Angeles, not the new Dick Clark with an exploding multi-media empire that threatens to swallow all of entertainment.
Same with Cat Deeley, who came to fame in the U.K. hosting Saturday morning...

Everyone's favorite reality-tv couple are back together. After weeks of rumors and a reported 11th-hour contract signing that nearly derailed the first day of auditions, former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul has officially taken her seat beside her ex-"Idol" sparring partner Simon Cowell on his upcoming U.S. version of "The X Factor."
Announced on Sunday evening, the addition of Abdul to the show completes the judging panel, which also includes former music executive Antonio "L.A." Reid and British singer and U.K. "X Factor" judge Cheryl Cole.
"This show would never have been the same without Paula and I can't believe I am saying this — I have missed her a lot, and I am thrilled she's on the show," said Cowell in a statement announcing the long-rumored news.

Simon Cowell really is cutting his ties.
The music mogul recently announced that he will not be appearing on the UK X Factor series this year, because he will be busy pouring all his energies into his new American venture. He’s taken fan favourite Cheryl Cole to the Us version with him and today, Cowell admitted that if the show fails without them, then he will have no hesitation in cancelling it.
In a video posted by The Mirror, the 52 year old record label boss said:
“I’ve made a decision and do you know what, it’s all or nothing. If we can’t find a star or if the show is useless, we’ll just call it a day.
“It’s got to be great, it’s got to be fun, you’ve got to find a star, otherwise truthfully it’s all been a waste of time – so no pressure.

Let's get this out of the way immediately: No, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols is not the new co-host of Fox's "The X Factor."
While that would've been totally awesome, we're sure the 34-year-old Welshman of the same name will do a bang up job alongside ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Even if he can't play guitar to "Anarchy in the U.K."
So who is the guy?
According to a press release from Fox, Jones is a native of Rhondda, Glamorgan, Wales who traded up from a modeling career to TV hosting gigs in the U.K.:
Jones' credits include the late-night series "Transmission," the marathon music show "Carling Live 24," seven years on the incredibly popular children's weekend morning entertainment show "T4," two installments of "Let's Dance for Comic Relief" and the special "Guinness World Records Smashed!" He will next be seen [in the U.K.] hosting "Drop Zone," "Wedding Crashers" and "101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow,...
