I'm not normally into Ballet...
radiopal25 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
But the first time I saw TOYMAKER'S DREAM, I was hooked. And hooked hard. The music, the movements and the story captured not only my imagination, but also my heart. I was swept away at the simple and majestic way in which the Bible was so elegantly portrayed. And the love of a merciful and gracious God towards us. The music is not only invigorating, but also acts as a musical narrator.

There is so much to say, Matthew Wards' vocals... the choreography, the message. If there is one "ballet" to watch... this would be it. Also remember that this is a single production shot live on stage in Tulsa, OK.

So all that's left to be said is... ENJOY IT!

The Masterpiece - A Toymaker's Dream is an exceptional stage production, with an exciting and entertaining allegorical twist. It will leave you with a sense of appreciation. Ryan Stafford's portrayal of the Toymaker's Son is a fantastic performance. The toys seem to come alive and bring the audience into the world of the Toyland. If people are looking for the right entertainment for family, church groups, or youth The Masterpiece - A Toymaker's Dream brings a dynamic stage production into the residence of your own living room. It is a great tool for sharing with others around the holidays. Exciting music, live action, and an exceptional storyline will leave you wanting more.

Good Movie

Very good interpretation of the biblical Story. I enjoy it. I had the opportunity to see it live on stage the first time and it was wonderful. I have shown it to my classes for the past couple of years and they have all enjoyed watching it as well. It does a good job of interpreting the gospel story from creation to the Easter story. The music is nice, the dancing real exciting (and fun to watch). The use of it as toys, though seems to misrepresent the idea of us as humans, that we Arel merely toys. We are not toys, but are able to do things on our own. I do realize it is a part of the movie and is just an interpretation, but people could get the wrong idea.

Wow

It's a very good movie. My church youth group is doing a somewhat similar version of it and I'm amazed at the sisters' work that some of the costumes that she has made are exactly the same (the Angels, The Sons' and The Toymakers). The play is gonna be on November 25th and November 26th. Wish us luck. The sister has said that she did it before for a group of people who had to do it for a grade and we are just doing it for fun I guess. The story of the Masterpiece is very well detailed and very nice. I'm gonna be playing a good angel. My sister is playing a good angel too and the nurse. The nurses' outfit is exactly the same as the one in the video.
