My dark trip down Ramshackle Road
vernongoodwin-18 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
A large creepy derelict dark old house. Three youngish people (late teens)and a little pet dog using the building as a meeting place. A Tramp living rough stopping by for some shelter. An unconscious foreigner who is very confused and frightened when he is discovered and brought around. And..... A mysterious Scary intruder who is creeping about the building unknown to the others, and is only identified by his highly polished shoes (on screen)until he emerges from the shadows and introduces himself."Good evening,my name is Tin Chin" And there he is,this spooky looking character in a black suit and metal jaw riveted to where his chin and jaw bone should have been. For a children's thriller it really did frighten me as an 11 year old. The idea of this programme was that the first episode was written and created by a professional playwright and each week after the episode ended young viewers were asked to contribute their own ideas as to the direction the following weeks storyline would take, and the playwright would base the next episode around their contributions. The sad thing was that I couldn't bring myself to watch the the rest of the episodes as Tin Chin played by actor Trevor Martin spooked me up so much but I managed to pluck up enough courage to catch the last five minutes of the last episode in which he melted and all that was left of him was his shiny shoes, black suit and his metal jaw which contained electronic components. It turned out that he was some kind of robot!
